I should be able to make it. Probably won't be at the Braums in time to join you on the ride down. I'll likely just go full speed on the fastest route for the trip down. (I don't normally get up before 7:00 AM, except to go to the bathroom, but we are talking cheeseburgers here...) Looks like 3:52, and 247 miles.

14 days and counting....
Meers has Pecan and Coconut Cream pie on their menu (yum!)
Here's an excerpt from their website describing their burgers:
Wondering what is in our burgers? How do we fix them? Why do we fix them this way? Why do we not fix them like other folks do?
• Meersburgers are made with 97% lean grass fed Longhorn beef from our own Longhorn herd.
• Our famous burgers are cooked medium well done and are served with mustard, dill pickles, tomatoes, purple onions, and green leaf lettuce. We use American cheese because our burgers are American burgers. We have been fixing them this way since the beginning, for over 50 years and this is the way our cowboys like them. 99% of our customers like them this way so this is why we respectfully call this burger (and your hats off boys) the COWBOY BURGER.
• Some folks like mayo on their burgers instead of mustard but call burgers with this a SISSY BURGER! Other folks like ketchup on their burgers instead of mustard. We call burgers with this a YANKEE BURGER! Cowboys believe ketchup belongs on fries, not beef.
• A few folks out there want all three---mustard, mayo, and ketchup---on their burgers. The poor fools are simply confused.
I guess I have to be prepared to order a "Sissy Burger"...not a mustard guy!

Gee whilikers, y'all are makin' this sound good! Hmmm, two options for me possibly. Either come up from the "Hangar" with any other Texians going, or start from the Braum's? I have a relative at SW 89th and May, so I could already be "in country" so to speak, haha.:D
This is all speculative. Trying first to go on a multi-state ride with guardian_dfw except I don't have all my days at work covered yet. If I don't go east, I may learn what a Meers steer burger thing is all about.:07biker:

:) Let's meet at the Braums at SW74th and May (7512 South May), literally just across the street from Oklahoma City Community College. I think we should plan on leaving the Braums by 9:30, to get us to Meers before their lunch rush starts. I like to arrive earlier than the departure time, so I can indulge in some parking lot camaraderie.
If anyone wants to ride over with me (Mark?), I'm planning to leave my place at 8:45 - which should put me/us at the Braums around 9:10~9:15.
See you there!

Don't forget, This Saturday is the Meers, OK. Burger Run. I think the meet time in Meers is 1130. I will be there. Just don't know which bike to ride. Make sure that you also get to the top of Mt. Scott while at Meers. A whopping 2400+ ft.above sea level. Those of you who live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, this is the highest you will get for a while:) Got some nice low speed twisties and the Wild Life presearve is a neat place to visit. See you all there.

Did you guys make the DQ stop in Chickasha, or were you chased by the weather?
I really appreciate you guys letting me tag along today. There is a wealth of knowledge among the group! :bow1:
I kicked around in Lawton for about an hour and decided to make a token run down across the Red River (Burkburnett). I headed back across S. Oklahoma to Waurika and up 81 to Duncan. That's when I first noticed the storm clouds looming on the northern horizon.
I jammed up 81 to Chickasha at breakneck speed and hopped on the turnpike to try to outrun the storm. Fortunately, I made it home high and dry. I can catagorically say that my bike has NO high-speed wobble, even with the top box! :D
I look forward to the next ride.
Thanks again.

Ditto on the pics. I like the one where Coop's comparing the mustard stain on his shirt to the yellow of Steve's Harley :D !
We hit the DQ for a pleasant break. While we were there a couple of wives called with weather reports, so we broke camp and rolled on in. I think we all made it home before the "rain" hit.

Great pics everyone.
The weather on Mt. Scott was very mild. The trip I took down to Burkburnett put me into triple digits however. I registered 103°F around Waurika on the way back. Of course when I hit the storm front north of Chickasha it started cooling down quickly.
