Just curious as to how members feel about these two items. MCN gave a good review of the Heli product.

Can't speak for the GENMAR, but I just got my Heli's on last night and test rode today in between the rain showers. Installation wasn't too bad just follow the instructions and general comments on the board. A helper would be nice too have when installing, but I managed to muddle through.
My principle first test was that usually with the stock bar position, after 20 minutes or so my throttle hand would get numb except for the outside two fingers (carpel tunnel in both wrists). Spent about an hour riding today with no numbness noted. So the Heli's are a winner for me. Didn't notice any twinges from my lower back (arthritis) so the more upright riding position helps in both areas for me.
I did get the optional cover too, which includes the tapped hole for the GPS Ram Mount.
I'm very happy with the Genmars, I can do 800 to 1000 miles days without any problems.

Heli was a piece of cake to install. Promotes a better riding position with less strain on my wrists. I've got a Garmin 2610 and like the way to Heli provides a mount for it. Well worth the investment.

Does the Garmin mount come with the Heli Bars or do you have to request it (and pay for it)?

Mount comes with a threaded hole. As luck would have it, I had a mount, so I was good to go. Works out really well.

I have seen a lot of Kawasaki Concours doing a combination using the Gen-Mar risers with the Heli bars to get a more comfortable upright riding posture. Really takes a lot of stress off the wrists and lower lumbar area.

I've tried both. I bought my STeed in Texas and rode it back to San Diego. That confirmed that I needed risers as my short little body (5'9") wanted to be more upright. Everyone was raving about the Helis so I ordered a pair. I had the dealer install them during a service. When I got the bike back, I knew I'd made a mistake. The rise was nice and the workmanship on the Heli was outstanding, but the sweep back reminded me of riding a tricycle long long ago.
I put the Helis up for sale in the classifieds here and got a set of Gen Mars. I am very happy. The Gen Mars only raised the bars, but didn't alter the stock sweep back.
Installation was easy. Having a set of metric allen socket drivers made it easier. I'm sure there are torque specs, but my calibrated wrist knows what tight, but not over tight, is.
Those that want to mount a Garmin or iPod down there can read the procedure about putting a RAM ball on a threaded rod and, using washers, mount it through the steering bearing hole.

I have had both. I prefer the Genmar type. I didn't like the angle change that the heli's gave me.
