End of May/ 1st week June 05 I spent a great vacation touring the Loire Valley and the Somme areas of France, with the local motorcycle club from Ipswich UK. The ST1300 behaved itself immaculately, in a variety of weather from torrential rain through to 25 degree C bright sun. Many of the roads in France are inherited from the Romans. They are dead straight for up to 50 km, and most roads have only light traffic, so you are rarely stuck behind slow vehicles for very long.
I've attached a few pictures below from an album of 250 or more. If anyone wants access to the full photo album which is uploaded to www.truprint.co.uk (http://www.truprint.co.uk), then send me a private message and I'll give you access.
Regards,
Rob

This picture gives you some impression of how good the roads are ... this was en route from Rouen to Tours, 100 km into a 500 km ride. I raced ahead for 3 km, stopped to photograph the other 12 riders in the group who went past while I was fiddling in the saddlebag to get my camera. I then rode at unmentionable speed to catch up with the rest of the group, who had meanwhile decided to detour for lunch somewhere. :beer3:
Before I knew it I arrived at the hotel in Tours, having navigated 400 km by myself. An hour and a half later the other 12 riders arrived, somewhat surprised to see me! C'est la vie ...

really enjoyed the photos. However that road and traffic would make my brain smoke with frustration.

Nice pics. Looks like a fun road, but that is light traffic? I'm sure the ST had no problems getting around it, at least.

I'm used to cack-handed driving, having worked and ridden in the USA quite a lot ;) My sister emigrated, and her family are in Corpus Christi, plus my employer is a USA company with offices in Palo Alto (CA), Bridgewater New Jersey and of Martlesham UK.
