Just wanted to send out good thoughts and prayers to folks in the mid-west affected by the flooding and ask for good thought and prayers for my Sister and her family.
They live in Cedar Rapids, were evacuated and are staying with their neighbor's family so the pets got to go, too. Last word as of 6/13, the water was up to the eaves in their neighborhood. :(
Fortunately, things can be replaced but it's just hard.....

I live about 40 mins from CR. The Cedar River Crested at 20 feet above flood stage. An incredible 7 feet above the all time record. If we get no more rain it will fall below flood stage June 24th. So far 20,000 (and counting) people in the Cedar Valley have been evacuated from their homes. Let me know if there is anything I can do for your sis.

Dace,
We'll keep them in our toughts and prayers. The photos shown on the newscasts lately are just heart wrenching.

Thanks for the offer Rob.
Fortunately, they have some friends who live in a nearby town that hasn't been affected by the floods. They're friends are going on vacation for two weeks starting tomorrow and so my sister and family will be staying at their friend's apartment. They're also hoping to be let into their neighborhood sometime tomorrow to see how bad it is.
Thanks for the good thoughts, everyone.

Prayers are coming for all . I wish all the best of luck. It hard to see what is happen back there. I live on a hill and all I worry about is a tree falling on the house, witch I should have cut. It is hard to see this happening to them. I may have miss this but do we have any member there that may need help. I was born in CEDAR RAPIDS, have not been back for 60th year. But I like tell people I am from IOWA. Ritch :03biker:
