Hi. I just got back from a short ride around the "neighborhood". Kewaskum is known as "the gateway to the Kettle Moraine", which is a geological area formed by the last Ice Age, when glaciers covered alot of Wisconsin. Anyway, the area is dotted with various sizes of "hills" called Kames, formed from silt within glaciers. Some are hundreds of feet tall. Another feature is a "kettle", which is a depression formed when burried ice melts, and a giant sinkhole is created. These usually filled with water, and became the area lakes. The attached pics are of the rolling landscape of 'kames', and Mauthe Lake, which was a 'kettle'. All are within 15 minutes from home. If you dont care about landscapes, I got a great shot of the bike at the end.

I like landscapes Steve, but those shots of the bike at the end are simply way cool!

Cool pics Steve. We'll have to hook up at some point for an afternoon ride.

Maybe a Milwaukee Area ST thingy.

That would be great. This week is booked - I'm camping w/ the family -next week & after is fine. Perhaps a ride out toward Actionfigurejoe? Sunday June 26th? Or Saturday July 2d to have more time to plan? Do you want to post an invite & plan the route? Or were you thinking something more spontaneous - pick a direction and go? Anything works for me. I'm thinking of planning an early fall ride up to the UP of Michigan (as those guys seem to be pretty active on this site and would be helpful in routing) Maybe a stop at the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame, and one overnite somewhere. I think we could get a small group togeather, starting south by you & picking up others as we go. PM me. Thanks

Hey Steve,

I would like to cooridinate with people who would be interested an live around the area. For a ride to eat it may not be an overnight thing maybe we can find a place in south central Wisconsin (Madison or something just north of there) and we could get AFJoe plus Illinois riders. Locating it far enough north for the UP riders wouldn't probably drop a lot of riders out but I wouldn't mind riding up there for a ride to eat with an overnight stay if the Yoopers wouldn't mind setting on up.

Maybe I'll talk with Mellow and see what's the best way to put something on the schedule on the site so people know about it and then if people are interested see who resoponds to try and figure out the best place to set it up.
