I am searching for a high quality, very easy set up tent, one to two man, with floor. I ride solo with a small Pug dog. Suggestions?? :03biker: :03biker:
I've crossed the country twice and camped 80% of the time using a Coleman Tent. It's a COLEMAN EXPONENT ORYX 2. It's inexpensive, durable and very easy to set up. Enjoy the ride.
I've also used it while backpacking on the AT. And the stuff sack has built in compression straps.

There are so many on the market..I would look for something that rolls into a bag..that fits across your bike..
I have a Golden Bear, three man tent, room for my Givi top box,and both side boxes,,and you may need a Rain fly, most tents come with them, just check..
And I recommend opening the tent, and put it up at home, a time or two,
Its no fun out on the road finding out you are missing somthing,or this thing goes whair??
Have Fun..Dean:biker: :tent3:

+1 on the Coleman Orynx. I originally chose it because it packs small enough to fit into a saddlebag. I think this tent has been discontinued by Coleman so you might have to shop around online. If I was to buy another tent I would like a vestible for boots and such and the Orynx is lacking in this department though. It is easy to set up however.

REI, Eureka, Fat Agnes, . . .
Damn near all of 'em are good.
Hie down to REI, Dicks, Eastern . . . and nose around.
I have a REI Geo Dome that lasted maybe 20 years before the water proofing got sticky. Replaced it with an Eureka Apollo 4.
I want a tent that I can sand up in to don and doff my pants.
The Eureka goes into a duffel bag, followed by a Thermorest mattress, pillow, flashlight, an bottle of rum. Then the sleeping bag gets stuffed into the nooks and crannies followed by a door mat to keep the zipper from snagging the sleeping bag.

If they're still making this one when I need my next tent, I think the Cabelas XPG ultralight will be the one - should setup w/footprint and fly in case it's raining, not to mention easier break down if it's raining.
There's a deal on them now, free footprint.

All the previous suggestions are great. You'll want all clip setup and a rain fly that comes all the way down (not just the top 1/2 of the tent). And be sure it's freestanding. Campmor is a great online source to check.

++ on the all-clips setup.
I just (this morning) bought a new bigger tent at Wally World. 8x9, a foot bigger in each direction and taller to. _Piece_Of_Carp!!_ Really cheap piece of Chinese junk (not a boat. :D ).
It's going back. Big 5 Sporting Goods has a Coleman on sale so that'll be my tent for next week.
See youse guys in Taos.

Eureka Tengu 2. Sets up in a couple of mintes, great quality, lots of room. You can usually find 07 models (don't know the difference between my 07 and the 08s) for a good price.
