Since we have now 38 attending this function, we need to get an idea of when everyone is arriving, and what meals, etc. are required so that we can start coming up with some options for food/meals. There are several restaurants in the area and a supermarket, liquor and beer stores nearby as well so there are a number of options. If you need meals for more than one day, there are multiple choices on the poll.

Chris, with 38 coming this will be quite an undertaking. As we said earlier in the other food thread, I'm sure we'll all be happy if we keep it simple. I'm easy. We want you and Sam to have more free time for R&R..... and we sure do appreciate the organization this takes. I'll be coming in earlier Thursday, let me know if I can help when I get there.

I agree Ray but we'll see how the numbers come out and then make a decision. Thanks for the offer ... BTW How much food can you carry in that wing?
We are still thinking of doing some meals at the motel, but it will be more of a group effort with the multiple BBQ's and cooking facilites in each room.
Breakfasts and lunches will definately be enroute and I will have all the restaurants marked as POI's on the final routes.
The Saturday group supper will be at a local restaurant and I need the numbers to make the reservation.

Here, here!! I second the motion to make sure that Sam and Chris do not cook ANYTHING for the rest of us. You two need the rest. This year is on the rest of us.
(Now tell me what to do.)

Chris,
Our Napanee Rotary Club (of which I am immediate past president) had, for many years, held a fundraiser for Easter Seals which we called Snow-A-Rama, whereby the club put on a supper for participant snowmobilers in exchange for their obtaining pledges from friends for miles/kilometers travelled during the event. All pledge sheets & receipts are issued directly by Easter Seals. There were prizes for furthest travelled, etc. Given the unpredictable winter weather of recent years, the event has fallen on poor times and a few members of the club have decided to hold a similar event for motorcyclists. (We have a mix of Beemers, cruisers & myself in the club). This STOC event is your baby, Chris, and I won't interfere. But this looks, to me, to be a great opportunity for some mutually beneficial collaboration. I'll talk to you further, about this, off list.
How would others feel about this?

I third the motion that Sam and Chris DON'T do any cooking. The group is getting large. I plan on coming up on Friday, but may also come on Thursday instead. I would gladly go to a restaurant for either night for dinners. Let's make is as easy for everyone as possible.
Cheers,

I agree, assuming there is something close by or that we can walk to, or work into the beginning and end of rides... no need for any of us, especially our hosts, to be weighted with domestic tortures while on a riding holiday! :D
Sam/Chris, That was a great idea you proposed on the weekend: Buy in bulk at Costco for us to BBQ at the resort. Make sure we all get charged not only for the food but your time and fuel too. No need to get fancy, keep it simple.

Plans for food are:
For the people who signed up for Thursday night supper- Chili and buns at Jockos
Friday Supper- Group DIY BBQ at Jockos - sausages, burgers, salads will be supplied
Saturday - Pizza will be ordered in from the local place up the road.
We will settle up costs each night.
There are several restaurants in the area for those who want to look after their own food

Food is a nasty habit I haven't been able to break so count me in.

Change of plans for me as I will now arrive late Thursday night and will eat dinner on the way. No slab driving for me as I plan on taking secondary roads all the way from Sarnia ON to Calabogie, so arrival may be quite late. Will join up with everyone riding from Jocko's on Friday AM and will participate in Friday and Saturday night dinners. :)
Chris & Sam - Great job organizing this event and look forward to seeing you guys again.

No problem Brian...Take your time and enjoy the scenery and we will see you when you get there.
If you are coming in after dark, I would recommend taking the 511 up from Hwy 7 at Perth as there will be less critters but keep an eye out just in case.
Have a great ride up and be safe.
