Has anyone tried the heated grips from BMW?

I like the standard BMW grips,& would like the heated grip version.

You might consider Dual Star or Symtech grip heaters underneath BMW grips. Cost effective and effective.

Did you guys put any insulating heat shrink tubing under the left hand grip to keep the heat from sinking into the bar?

Do they seem to heat evenly left vs right grip?

I agree with Bones. Both grips seem to heat evenly. I also use a Heattroller with my setup.

Good luck.

Nope. And they seem to distribute the heat pretty evenly as it is. Cheap, too.

I have Dual-Star grip heaters under my BMW grips. Heat Troller to control them. I got the Heat Troller and the Dual-Star grip heaters from Dual-Star via internet. They work very well.

I took power for the Heat Troller from the quartet harness which I added specifically for this application.

The Dual-Star has different elements for the left and right sides so they are designed to compensate for the differences and no additional insulating layer is necessary for the left side.
