Site Issues?

Please let me know if you are having issues with the site.

I've updated just about everything left to update except a couple modifications which are on my list.

What I need to know is if the site is 'acting funny'... yeah, this will be interesting...

If there are any functions or graphics that display incorrectly or things that aren't working the way you think they should or did before.

Yes.. you'll notice a few small differences... if someone comments on one of your album pics it will show up in your notifications just like PMs will.

Actually, the bottom section of the FAQ (http://www.st-owners.com/forums/faq.php) page has a lot of info. I don't think many go through it and actually, I don't think I have.

I figured it would, there were lots of left over stuff from recent upgrades and modifications and this allowed me to start from scratch and only add the things we needed.. much cleaner code.

One question please.

With the recent passing of the Members Gallery, is there an easy way to get to the new albums ?

The only way I know how to access the pictures is through the User CP and that only takes me to my own pictures, not other public albums.

Is it possible to make this a Quick Link or something like that ?

WOW--really weird. I just checked.
If I'm on the home page and click on the quick link, it doesn't work.
If I'm in a thread view and click on the link it works.
I hope this helps you troubleshoot it.

Just scored 61,450 on GOld miner...wouldn't save my high score!! It appears that I timed out and when I logged back it it said it was disabled by administrators from viewing...LOL

The key is to open another browser window with the site and between levels, go refresh that window.. that should keep you logged on without timing out due to inactivity.. sorry man.. I love that game.

When I click on a picture link to see the picture full size, the full size picture quite frequently (but not all the time), ends early -- 1/3 to 1/2 of the picture being displayed. "Done" shows on the Status bar. I've been using Firefox for a couple of years now, so I don't think that is the problem.

Jim, can you give me more specifics? Are you viewing a post or an album, is it an inline pic or a pic that is showing as a thumbnail..etc.. the more info I have the better I can track down anything strange. I have yet to have this happen to me but I use firefox most of the time.

I really like the way you've set up the random pictures so they come from the members albums.

Other than constantly refreshing the home page, is there a way to view the members albums as a random slideshow ?

Not at present but that's a cool idea... I'll search to see if anyone has that mod available.

Are the limits on member pictures going to be increased anytime soon. I use to post event pictures under the event when we had a gallery, now they are all posted in my personal album and it's already full. Somehow that's just plain wrong!

It's supposed to be a per/album limit, not a user limit. What error message are you getting?

Man, you're good, I never even got a chance to answer!

I never actually received an error message. I hadn't yet achieved the limit, but I'm sure it was counting down with each photo I added and none of my albums contain anywhere near the limit. I was sure I was down below 40 left, but truthfully, I stopped so I wouldn't over reach my bounds.

I'm getting an error that may be related. When I try to upload about 6 pictures at a time I get this message:

That has happened in the past if the total pics are more than 2 mb. The site has to upload in order to resize so if you don't resize first, it gets an error, wish the message was more clear.

That happened to me (same error message, cryptic error messages seem to be the standard, no useful info) when I had some pictures that were not reduced down to the 800x800 limit. Check them close.

I resize mine using a free tool called PixResizer (search for it, available at most freeware sites) before uploading. I keep all my resized pics in their own folder, and use those for e-mail, etc. Keep the full size for my own use.
