A little incident that happened to me when Byron and I were leaving Taos (that I had forgotten about...:o:) but I think most will find it interesting....
When Byron and I had loaded our bikes for the Taos departure, I had the bike on the center stand (like normal) and before mounting, I had started it up to let it warm up a bit. :)
When I went to throw my right leg across the bike, I stepped down on the left foot peg (it's easier to get the right leg over when you have the rear saddle loaded as high as the topcase) and hit the shifter with my left foot. Now, since the bike was "loaded" down, the rear tire was in contact with the ground. So when I hit the shifter, the bike lurched forward on me. Don't ask me how I did it, but I managed to keep the bike from going over on me and I don't remember if I managed to get my leg over or just stayed to the left and pulled in the brake and clutch. Byron was sitting on his bike watching the whole thing. :eek:
So this is #2 for me coming close to dropping it...let's hope 3rd time is not a charm! :(
