Well happy to report that after a few hours in 92 F my ST did get warm but never to the point of being un comfortable and the temp gage never went above 3 bars. My tip for what ever its worth on these hot days is to move my feet out to the outer edge of the pegs and point your toes down to wards the road. As good as having air cond.

Rode a bit today also. Headed East for about 100 miles, temps were 97-98,
and high humidity... When I drove East, my right leg got warm... When I
drove West, my left leg got warm... Dang..... It was the sun!!! Stopped,
a little heat, but not too bad, ambient air temp was as bad as the heat from
ol' Blue. If you lift the windshield up a bit, then it does drag some warmth up
a bit... But with the screen all the way down, the "heat" is not even worth
mentioning...

Rode today, 400 miles. Average temp was 80 but the last 1 and a half was 115F. Yep, back into the valley of the sun. :)

With the modified lower cowl's and the fairing extenders it was all good!

Great post on the heat issue over on the MSN board. Writer tested the actual heat difference by removing the inner cowls and recorded shin heat as well as the storage box. Looks to be a pretty objective, data driven review.

Dave,

That is the the comfort zone on the ST. Feet out! Yesterday it was 100 degrees here. That bike was hot but not terribly uncomfortable. When you stopped and sat it was toasty but moving, it wasn't bad at all.

Again though nothing compared to my Harley days. That back cylinder was smokin hot!!!

Another thing I have found is not to use the windshield much when it hot out. That's more or less common sense but with the ST's design even more so. Make note of this one. On a hot day (today will work) at about 40-45 make note of the comfort zone. Then start raising the windshield. The hot air from the motor will pull upward. You will feel it across your legs, thighs up to your lower torso. So I don't use the shield much in this weather.

So as to heat issues, I don't see one with this bike.
