Hi,
I'm thinking about attempting to make my own backrest, and I'm wondering if anybody has made their own. I have an idea of what materials, and what to bolt on to the ST, but any pointers would be helpful. Especially, in reguards with the cushsion.
Also, if you have built a backrest, what would you do different than what you ended up with?
Thanks,
Tom de

Hi Tom,
If you're building one for the driver I would be interested in seeing it. I've only seen one for the driver and it was someone on the board here who did it with a Corbin seat.
I've been trying to figure out a way to make a backrest for the driver using the stock seat or any 2 piece seat by making a bar that went down in between the seats and then fastened to the frame and/or to the hand rail mount. It seems like it would be a tight fit but if it were made from stainless steel I would think it would be possible. I wish I knew the people who made the Stealth backrest so I could work with them to design one for the driver.

I'm the Corbin seat / backrest guy. I've also done a Utopia driver's backrest that was designed for the stock seat (for the driver but fits on rear) but also on the Sargent (with a little Dremeling of the seat pan).

I'm doing a passengers rest. But ataDude, how is your cushsion attached to the post? do you have a pocket that slides over a plate thats attached to the post? And what kind of materials (foam, cover, etc) did you use? I'm not to worried about how to secure the backrest as much as I am about the construction of the cushsion :D.
Thanks,
Tom de
