I am considering getting electric glove liners. Here in AZ, I only need them early in the morning; I start work at 6 AM. It is then or when I go up to the mountains that my fingers get really cold. I have good winter gloves and my reasoning is like this. For one month or a little more, I do not see reason to have electric grips baking year around in the Arizona sun. I could get electric gloves and switch from one to another, or get liners and use them as needed. Anyone out with different recommendation and/or experience that can provide fore insight? Thank you all.

This isn't the specific help you require, and I don't have experience with the liners or other electric garments. But it might help someone. This guy does know about getting cold enough to have to stop and warm my hands up!

There once was an item that helped to conceal the entire grip/lever/controls area, and known as "hippo hands". Maybe this is an item only found today at accessory shops or in JCWhitney catalogs?:)

When I bought my Wing with heated grips/seat, I thought I would never... ever use those things... LOL!!!

Now that I have moved to CO, I use them all winter long... besides if I ran off to a colder climate, they are there :)

Just a thought :)

Liners are great... real good winter gloves are real good... electric gloves would probably be the best solution for you.

http://www.motogearoutlet.com/heated.htm has the Synergy stuff... use it as a gauge for pricing :)

For what you describe, I'd recommend grip heaters. They're always there, ready to use whenever you need them, unnoticed when you don't. You won't find yourself 50 miles from home wishing you had brought the heated liners.

Here is the link to hippo hands www.hippohands.com; I have the ones spec'd for the ST1300 and I would not recommend them unless you are happy with 75% of the mirror being obscured - or have after market mirrors mounted on your screen. The HH's are OK on the Guzzi with stem mirrors.

I also have Gebring liners (and heated gloves). I wear the liners only when it is really cold and they go under winter mitts...toasty but bulky and I have roasted knuckles a couple of times (what is that smell? :o:) that said I think the new gen Gerbings liners are thinner. Anyway 90% of the time I use heated hand wear it is the gloves and that would be my recommendation for the riding you described - more comfortable and you can just turn the heat off when you would normally use regular gloves. Get a heat controller with either choice.

Good luck with your decision
