I'm good on Aug 3rd. Any place is fine with me. Sodus, Canandaigua, or any other place works for me.

I just got back from camping so give me a day to get my head wrapped around it. I'll see what I can come up with for ideas.

Canandaigua sounds interesting.... any ideas on a little burger joint or diner Ken? I don't know much about what's available there.

Count me in. If it involves ice cream, I'm happy.

I'll pipe up here. Lets do a back roads run to Naples. Canandaigua gets a bit too crowded for my tastes on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Bob & Ruth's restaurant has a rear dining room in addition to the casual front dining area. It's quiet back there and the prices are reasonable - (same as the front for like items). Ice cream available for copperhead!

I would take Routemeister's advice. He has steered me wrong a couple of times but we made good time! I need practice at U-turns anyway. I think he knows every back road there is down that way. Had me lost! He will even stay off the dirt if you ask him nice. Vivian and I are going to be in Vt. so we are out I'm afraid.

Naples works for me. It's always a great ride, when Routemeister makes a run. Just did a trip to Henderson with him, had no idea there were so many great back rodes between Webster and Henderson.

If it was the 2nd I might try and make it but its just too long a trip for a Sunday. Maybe next time.

Maybe lunch rather than dinner? Then we can ride both before and after and not have to think about it getting dark...(animals ya know!!)

Trekker
07-28-2008, 07:38 PM
Ifn ya'll would rather do lunch thats cool wid me... I probably cannot make lunch. Sundays are tough for me right now. I totally understand not wanting to ride if it gets close to dark in the hills of the Finger Lakes!

Name the time and I will edit the 1st post.

Works for me, better actually, because I may have house guests arriving Sunday evening. I plan to leave my house ~10:30 Sunday morning for a leisurely back road ride to Naples with Jerry55. Anyone else can join if they wish. (home is 8 Windsor Way, Fairport NY)

I wish I could go to Bob and Ruths. It has been way too long since I was there.
I bet they serve Zwiegles still too Huh ? I get weird looks out here when I try and describe a "White Hot" to left coasters.
Until you've had one don't knock it.
Have fun guy's and gal's , ride safe.

So Dave, if I come over to your house on Sunday you'll take me for a motorcycle ride?

Aaaaahhh! Naples agaaain! I was just there laST weeeeek! I guess I can handle the fresh air, beautiful scenery, fun roads, good food and bike buddies two weekends in a row.
I am near the airport. Is anyone leaving from this side of town? Doesn't matter if we head STraight to Naples or hit Fairport firST.

White Hots Rock! And most people learn to crave them once they are introduced to the flavorful joy of a pork hot. We have to bring frozen Zwiegles Whites to friends in Pittsburgh every time we visit them.

See everyone there by noon this Sunday. I plan to "kitzel kotzel" (zig-zag or meander) my way to Naples... not really sure of my route yet. I'll know it when I get started.:D

Yup! And just for you, we'll find a few less traveled roads along the way. St1100 or Yamaha-it doesn't matter.

Copperhead, if you're near the airport, you owe it to yourself to visit the Leaf & Bean coffee shop on Thursday evenings. There is a very eclectic mix of motorcycles and riders that meet there to talk (bikes) arrange weekend rides etc. The owners are motorcycle enthusiasts (currently adventure tourers, but it changes every season). Just park your bike on the sidewalk adjacent to the coffee shop, grab a drink and a seat on the patio. Riders will stop to say hello.

What a seriously handsome group of riders! Especially the dude in the dark blue shirt and the short gray hair.

I love LD riders ( and ST riders in particular)... Ride 3 hours to the next state just for lunch with other riders, chow down, ride home. Screw washin the bike... Let's Ride!..... burp.

No, Dave I had more of a light blue shirt on, and I have numerous gray hairSSSS, not just a single one!:D
But, I'm slightly PO'd. Forgot all about asking what a "White Hot" or something like that is! Was that the place? Were we supposed to order that?
And not even any ice cream today!
Yet:)

All I remember was Kitty CaCa, which seems a pretty gross way to describe a nice, twisting back roads ride.

However, waiting until September for a PA RTE seems a little too long. In the interim, friends have just described a unique little cafe in The Village of Castile (on the west side of Letchworth Park) with really good food + about 20 varieties of pie, made on premises. Anyone ready to ride this Sunday? (I'm spending the rest of August weekends at various race tracks getting acquainted with my R6 track bike.)
Regards, Dave

Are you finally getting that little 600 you've been dreaming about Dave?
Actually, I have two six hundreds now. I purchased a '99 Yamaha R6 race bike two weeks ago, then just got home with a HIGHLY modified '84 Yamaha SRX. The original 26HP 500cc thumper has been replaced with a 64 HP 600cc thumper, plus many other chassis & suspension modifications. A good rider on a tight, technical track can make mincemeat of 650cc twins and make 750cc twins nervous.
Both bikes are going to Mosport Aug 14 for my inaugural rides and maybe race the thumper.
