The ride from Jasper to Banff through Lake Louise in Alberta beats Switzerland and Colorado. The mountains aren't the highest but road is fairly low so you a lot of scenic relief. There's a glacier right by the roadside and Athabasca Falls is stunning. Queen Charlotte's Island via ferry from Prince Rupert is one of those 'you might as well go to 'cause you're never gonna be this way again' kind of places. The Provincial Park out there was rated #1 by Adventure Magazine.

Strathcona Provincial park on Vancouver Island is beautiful. Varnished picnic tables with no carvings, free fire wood, and a fjord like lake.

Glad you liked the trip south on hwy 93 through the park - correction though - you were in Alberta - BC is still west of that .
As you said though, very scenic and a great ride with some long climbs and great views, but watch out for the terrorists in the Winnebagos - a lot of them have never seen a deer or a bear or a glacier - keep your eyes peeled and have a good ride if any of you come up this way

... and to think Strathcona Park is mere 2 hours from my place ... why go anywhere else, eh ?

Because I want to go to California, that's why ... and WA and OR are on the way there ... I just love the Great Pacific Northwest ... what a place ! :D

Horst - because you can keep your cheap CDN dollars up here and still get some fantastic riding and scenery going east of lotus land (Vancouver) - so many nice roads to try out and explore - dont get me wrong - I love travelling in the States, but we have so much to be thankfull for up here that a lot of people never get to see and experience.
Mellow - cmon up dude - we'll treat ya rite - guaranteed you'll love it - from the flats all the way to the rock hills

Vancouver Island and the countryside in BC is beatiful. I did this trip 2 yrs ago. The ride up from San Francisco along the coast (hwy 1) though Oregon and Washington is very much well worth the effort. It's time consuming going on the '1' [later 101] but it's so incredibly beautiful that it's worth every part of the effort.

The rocky outcrops with the misty sea spray in Oregon still stick in my mind for some reason. Saying that the green-ness of Washington is very soothing.

That is a great trip, except for all the motorhomes around Coos Bay, OR ... especially during July and August. But the scenery is absolutely breathtaking, isn't it ? ...
