I've always wanted to ride to Martha's vineyard. They make this jet ski attachment.... Seriously, maybe an east coaster could setup a islandStoc. I can see the mad rush of STers rushing to make ferry time. Either way, I'm thinking of just riding out there in Aug of 2006.

Martha`s Vineyard is a zoo in the summer. Traffic is brutal. If you insist on going wait till after labor day.

You could always call it STUCKINtheFERRYLINESTOC :D I waited all day many years ago to get back home, took a bicycle next tme. Bicycles on the narrow in Villiage roads sucked though with the heavy traffic.

No saving grace on the trip over, either. The ride to the ferry sucks too because you have to ride through/around Boston or Providence. A bicycle in the off season is the way to go, the Sound Cyclists do it every year. There just aren't many roads available for travel on the Island, which is great for Hardlies.

So, how is it in the spring? Or what is the weather like after Labor day? I have the kids June and July, so I know it won't be those months. I don't know, I've just had a desire to go there. Another place I like is St. John's, but I'll wait till the kids are older and don't come up for the summer. I have not been there since 2001. I was there on my way over to Germany for a week during George Street Festival. I'm thinking that would be a good time to ride up there. I think the police up there only started carrying gun's like a year or two before that.
