I have just joined the forum and will be purchasing an 03 ST1300 when the right one comes along.
I have been riding a 97 Honda Magna for the past 3 years, but have been able to ride my dad's new ST quite a bit and really like the abilities and looks of the bike. I am selling the Magna if you know anyone interested. The Magna is an excellent power cruiser, but just isn't an ST. :)
Seems like a good group of people with lots of information here. Glad I found it.

Scott, welcome to the confusion... let us know if you have any questions.
Welcome Scott! As a former Magna owner myself, I know you'll be pleased with the move to the ST. Enjoy the ride!
Scott,
Use the reverse, have "Dad" by 2 of each modification so that you can do it to your bike first, thus "Dad" would benefit by have the more professional install.
Good luck in your search,
Mark :D

Actually, the Blue '04's were the fastest. Then Honda created the red '05's and now they are the fastest! :D

Scott,
Welcome to the board. Great choice on your future ride. I've got an '03 and just flat love it. Don't let anyone kid you, the silver ones are quickest. Hands down. Not even close.

I will let everyone know which one is faster when I get mine; Dad has a blue 04, and I will be getting a silver 03.
I pretty sure it will be the 03.

In a perfect world, I would have my Magna back in the stable as my cruiser of choice alongside the ST. I also owned a Vulcan 1500, but the Magna was my favorite cruiser due to its performance. However, since I'm limited to one bike, the ST wins for its versatility, handling, braking, comfort, and touring capabilties. I'll be eager to hear your impressions once that fast silver ST is yours :)

Yep, I wish I could keep the Magna, but can't afford it. :(
I have a pretty done deal with a guy in TX. Planning on picking up the :03biker: on 7-23-05. :headbang:

Hey, reread my post I wasn't trying to help Scott spend your money.
I am trying to assure that you get the absolutely best installations your money can buy! :D We can't allow shoddy work on "Dad's" bike! ;)
Wish my Dad was young enough to ride with me... Now I have to pull an Alan... I have had my 2 younger boys riding off road for years and I'm going to get the 15.5 year old to start street riding with a permit.
Congratulations to both of you for picking a great bike (and site).
