First of all, thanks to some of you guys, these really weren't that hard to put on. The only difficult part for me was getting the lower washer and nut back on. My hands are big, and I had a hell of a time finding a way to hold those.
As for the riser, the effect is much more subtle than I expected. I had read posts on here about turning the bike into a Goldwing, etc, and after putting the riser on, I realized that the people who felt that way had obviously never sat on a bike with these risers because they barely change the bike at all. However, they do relieve some of the pain running up the back of my neck, and I sure do appreciate that. Unfortunately, the seat still pushes me into the tank, and I've had enough of that, so Russell is my next--and last until I recover financially from all of this--farkle.
BTW, because I bought the bike out of state, I had to have the VIN verified. The CHP put me on a month long waiting list. I'm not kidding. After some of you clued my in, I went home and found the VIN and engine number in thirty seconds. I used a regular flashlight and reading glasses to read the engine number, and that was exactly how difficult it was. One minute tops. One month for something that took me one minute. Then I checked around and found out that some car dealers are licensed to do the VIN check, so I took it to a car dealer and got it done in ten minutes. He had to fill out the paper work, so it took a little longer. Now my bike is licensed and tagged and it belongs to me. I just brought this up in case it ever happens to any of you.
Thanks again for the help.
