View Full Version : (Photo) SOLAS tape and color Retroreflective tape

Greetings!

Installed the SOLAS and HI-Intensity Red tapes on the back of my bike and helmet today.

Photo is with flash of course ;) Put my helmet on the luggage rack. Will take some during the day tomorrow.

Not even close. Came in 2"x10' rolls. HAve lots left over yet. Will probably put more of the silver SOLAS tape on the back of the bike, instead of just on my helmet.

Did you have to sand the saddle bags before you put it on? The black part on my bike is pretty rough. It will tear a towel up cleaning it.

I just cleaned it with Honda Spray Cleaner then let it dry and brushed off any towel particles with my hand. The tape is very sticky.

It was short notice. I posted it in the thread you started about the Tampa meet. I was only there Sat afternoon thru Sunday Morning. I thought I saw a ST1300 going north on 75 as I got closer to Tampa on Sat.

HWI... you IS! I just ordered me some red. I have Tailbrights, but I could use some red back there too... thanks for the product eval!

These guys are QUICK :eek: Got my red and I went ahead and ordered some black reflective too for the side of my bags!

hey hewhois i notice you have the reflector bolts on your licence plate frame. did you have to drill through your fender to get em on? my lic plate is so close to the fender its hard to get just a short bolt in to hold it all together. :04biker:

Actually, the dealer I bought the bike from had them on already when I picked the bike up for the first time. Will try to remember and take a look at it tomorrow and see how it is all put together. They reflect a fair amount of light all by themselves.

Those were on mine as well... a pain to put perm plates on though! :eek: I had to bend the bracket out a little to screw them back on(fat fingers) then press the bracket back in straight once they were on;)

I have a friend who works for the highway department. He acquired some Red,White,Blue and Yellow SOLAS tape for me. Here is what I did with the Blue. (pic attached)

I bought the tailbrights for my bike but I really like the looks of the blue! :04biker:
