I Just got back from a great ride last night. 10 days & 3100 miles; Two-up camping the entire trip.

Highlights: Pagosa Springs,Co. then to Silverton/Ouray and up to Vernal, Ut.
through Flaming Gorge and up to Grand Teton/Yellowstone for a day.

We camped north of Alpine Jct,Wy on the Snake river. Saw a cow moose when we woke up in the morning....saw a grizzly bear outside of the east exit on our way towards Cody,Wy. at the end of the day (I'm still psyched about that).

While in the park, we stopped to see some of the geysers & take pictures. We had been off the bike for about 30 minutes when this guy came up and told me that ravens had been "attacking" my tank bag. On my way towards the parking lot several other people told me about the ravens going after my tankbag. Funny thing is ....I didn't have any food in it. Some of the contents were on the ground next to the bike; the only thing missing was a souvenier shot glass (oh well--live and learn).

In Cody we stopped at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center for about four hours...Awesome!!! We visited the Buffalo Bill museum, the Plains Indians museum and the Firearms museum. There was more to see & do there than I would have ever imagined.

Then we crossed Wyoming to Casper and took I-25 through Colorado down to Las Vegas, New Mexico. Finally Backroads back home to Presidio,Tx.

Presidio Texas?!?!?!?

I drove across the border 1 night back about 1998 at 11:30 pm and Didnt EVEN WANT TOO in Presidio Texas!!!

I had drove all day from San Diego/Tucson heading for Presidio and as they never have fog down there I was told,,, it was REALLY foggy as I got close to town... I saw what looked like lights ahead which i ASSumed,,, was Presidio,,, but in reality,,, was the town on the Mexican side as it is far larger... I drove along towards the town and realized I had screwed up big time when all the signs were in Spanish!!! No Guards,,, just,,, SHAZZAM!!! I was in Mexico!!! I drove around about 8 minutes and headed back to get back into the US of A...

Lets just say,,, the US of A Border guards saw,,, this Tahoe go across,,, and back in all of 10 minutes and thought something smelled...

The first Border Guard was very friendly and asked where I was going... Told him my screw up and was on my way to my home in Austin Texas... Strike 1...

He looked at my license plate and saw I was from Illinois... I told him I lived in Austin,,, but Farmed in Illinois... Strike 2...

He said,,, you have a home in Austin,,, and farm in Illinois??? Asked where I had been... I told him I was coming back from San Diego and dropped my sisters/Brother - n law off in Tucson... Asked what my Brother-n-law did... Told him he was a Pharmaceutical Rep... Strike 3,,, get OUT OF THE TRUCK!!!

1 Hour later after taking everything out of my Tahoe,,, Drug Sniffing Dogs crawling all over it,,, X-Raying my tires... Yes,,, I said X-Raying my tires... Running a Fiber Optic camera up my Muffler/Doors/Hood/and every crack except my own private crack,,, they decided I was clean,,, just truly stupid...

I could have saved them the trouble and let them talk to anyone who knows me...
