Plans are starting to be formed for WiSTOC 3. It will be held the second weekend in September 2009. Starting on Thursday the 10th and wrapping up on Sunday the 13th. We will be staying at the same motel as this year - the Spring Green Motel. Rich and I will again plan some routes for Friday and Saturday. We will have a cookout at the motel on Friday night.
Saturday night will be a sit down dinner or you can do your own thing.
Rich and his family and myself enjoy putting on this event.
More to be added as feedback is received.
Tentative Schedule of Events:
Thursday arrival for those who want.
Friday rides will be up to those who make it early. May route a nice easy one if enough people want.
Friday night will be a cookout at the Motel. There will be a donation can to help defray the costs of the food we will be eating.
Saturday will have 2 or 3 routes to take. Rich will lead one and I another one. Will try to talk someone (Curt :>) into leading a spirited route again
Saturday night a sit down meal - Site to be determined.
Motels: Spring Green Motel (Camping also Avail. Here!)
Highway 14 East, E5296B Hwy 14
Spring Green, WI 53588
Ph: (608) 588-2141 or 1-888-647-4410
Email: sgmotel@charter.net
Rates are:
Single bed - Thursday night - $55, Friday / Saturday - $65
Two beds - Thursday night - $65, Friday / Saturday - $85
Three beds - Thursday night - $75, Friday / Saturday - $92
10 rooms have been set aside under ST-Owners and they requested that we make our reservations by July 30th. After that, you will have to hope they have rooms left. The last two years they have been full, so you have been warned.
The above rates are for the room, no matter how many you squeeze into it. Camping will be around $10.00 a night. They have a shower room for the tenters. If enough people tent they will set aside a room for them to use. We had 3 tenters at the 2007 event and at least 6 tents in 2008. They found the grass to be of the highest quality around  . Plenty of room for more.

Kevin, wistoc 2 is two days old and you have the post for next year? What took so long?
Not sure if a little less than a year is enough time to plan. ;-)
Great job on the grilling. Mmmmm brats.

HMM I will have to check my calender but I think we might be able to make it. LOL
Well no matter what you know we will be there with smiles on, I can't think of anything for changes, I think this year went great. There will be no turkey next year but I was thinking we could grab corn, and thro that on a charcoal grill. Plus I promise to bring my jacket and helmit next year.... I promise curt I will......LOL It would be great if I could have my bergman by them, but we will have to see how things go, money doesn't seem to grow well on the trees in our yard lately.

I had a talk with them about their schedule.
I am glad that we do not have to compete with a motorcycle event next year. We missed those that would have been in Spring Green had the GP races not been on.
Hope you can make it next year.
Rumor has it there is to be a RTE in Nelson on 10-4. See some of you there.

I toured the "Cave in the Mounds" last year with my wife and 5 and 7 year old daughters. We had a good time. Then we drove to Mount Horeb, to eat at the Grumpy Troll, which came highly recommended.
I must say the food was very good and the place had a fun atmosphere. The beer selection was very good and they even had an english ale on tap.
That area was very scenic. I am sure it is a spectacular place for a STOC gathering. One more reason why I should pick up an ST this spring.

you are more than welcome this stoc event even if you don't have and st. heck your wife and kids are welcome too. I always bring my van while rich brings the bike. My 16 yr old daughter and her friend come with too, so if your wife decided to go on a ride with you there will be people there to watch the kids, I myself usually stay behind to great straggelers. there is a volley ball court, basketball court, big grassy area for them to play , plus we have a campfire every night.

Well since I always stay back with the kids, I think this year on Sat if the weather is nice, I might drive them to the dells for some looking around and maybe some shopping, just something to do.... But then again who know i might find something better to do too.

Rooms have been reserved. Tell them you are with ST-Owners if they tell you there are none. Those wanting to wait till the last minute may be out of luck as they have been full the last two years. Rooms are on hold till July 31st. After that you are rolling the dice.
For those who are camping - NO - reservations are needed. You will need to register as there is a fee for the camping. I will make my room available for those camping to take showers and use the toilet. You will need your own towels though. They do have a shower and bathroom available besides mine.
Looking forward to this years event.

Come when ever you can. The long loop will leave around 8, no later than 9. It is usually 300 miles. The shorter loops will leave a little later. Think about dropping in any time during the weekend. The evenings are when the real adventures are told.

Just for those who are still debating on rooms. You still have till July 31st to get one that has been reserved under ST-Owners. After that you are rolling the dice on availability. Just a friendly reminder.

I'm starting to get ready. The bike needs some attention but I have time. It only needs brake pads front and rear, brake piston seals front and rear, rear brake disk (George said the badly worn one would be okay but since I gave Freestyle money for a cherry used one, I may as well throw it on) and I have a set of PRs to try to spoon on for the first time. Nothing major but I will have something to do with my week ends :D besides just :rd11:

update on long route I posted....
If anyone is riding this...here's an update...
Zumo rode it right on! No Uturns! No Dead ends! (a FIRST for me!:p:)
Ignore the ROAD CLOSED signs!
There is a minor detour (construction heavy gravel)...I can't figure out how to mod. the route without wrecking it!...but heading NW on V (around Hillsboro) go past 80 and turn right on Beaver Creek Rd.;left on 80;and left on Kouba Valley road, and then a left on ST Johns Rd. then right on V and that's it!
Hwy G on the end of the route is all Gravel (about 5- 10 miles)....
but it's not bad at all... packed good, not real loose! ! I was doing 60mph on the straights....but your bike will be dusty at the end...
If you want to avoid it...I would end the route at 80...
head north up to 33,East to 23, and south to Spring Green...
Don't know if I'll get check the other 2 out or not...but I'll try!...
Good Luck!;)

and 23 is closed for few blocks into Darlington...just go straight for a few blocks and hang a left...and your back on!....
and the Scenic overview on Hwy 23 is off by a few blocks...

Anyone interested in riding Sunday? I'll be passing through on my way to Winona sometime Sunday. Was planning on riding Wildcat and over the cut on the way, among other local roads (see the "Mid-September Ride to MN" thread for more - I can't link as I am on my phone now).
Anyone heading west from Spring Green who wants to meet up and ride for a while? I'm not 100% sure when I'll be heading through (a lot will depend on the weather - could be to/past Tomah before lunchtime or that could be later). A post-WiSTOC RTE maybe? I can't get down there but would love to meet to eat or ride.

Weekend rides-
Friday
Rich is going to lead a long loop of around 280 miles and wants to be on the road by 9.
Kevin will do a short loop of around 110 miles and would like to be on the road by 10.
Saturday
Kevin will lead a long loop of about 280 miles and would like to be on the road at 9. Go to a local restaurant for breakfast at 8 and leave from there. Can not remember the name, but many have eaten there in the past. It is towards Richland Center and on the right hand side just after Subway.
I think Rich is doing the House on the Rock.
Saturday night
I am going to make reservations at The Shed. We ate there last year and you will want to go before 6 to miss the Saturday night church crowd. Where you eat is always your choice. This is a very laid back event and we want to keep it that way.
Looking forward to the weekend and seeing old friends, that names will escape me, and meet new faces, whose names will also escape me.
Ride safe to and from Spring Green.

Good question. I can only speak for myself. I do not like to pay the state any more money than I currently do. I run about 5 over. It also depends on the group. I also do not usually slow for curves.
We have a good friend in ACL that once said "The only thing that will keep me from riding, is crashing" With that said, ride your pace.
It will not be sedate, and it will not be risky.

A big thank you to Rich, Sally and Kevin for all their hard work and great eats!
I too had a great time. The area has so many great roads and the comradely was just what you would expect for a SToc event. Great people, great roads, and good food:bow1: I will be back again next year.
Is it just me or was there less wildlife at this event than there was at LocSToc?:D :rd11:

Thanks also go to Rich and Sally. They brought some awesome Mozzarella sticks and homemade chili. Will be posting WiSTOC 4 soon. It will be the second weekend in September. The 9th to 12th.
Thanks for all the kind words from all attendees. It you folks that made the event more than us. Plan it and they will come. So it is being planned for 2010 and you can bet I will be there.

Great outing, met some great people!!! We even had the pleasure of meeting a very interesting Yamaharley rider, Jerry, from the Green Bay area. He had me stick out my tongue and told me that my liver was Yang. Hmm... Now I gotta look that up. ;) (Maybe it was Rich's cheese sticks that made my liver yang?)

Due to the wedding here in San Diego and the need to be here, I elected to go as far as AR for the event down there. Man there were a lot of folks there that were at YooperSToc!!!

Kevin, Rich, and Sally thanks for another great event. Wish I could have ridden the bike, but better to be safe then sorry right now. Looking forward to next year and pretty sure I will be riding to Spring Green instead of driving the car. The food great, and enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting the new people.
