I have always wanted to tour Iceland...
Closest I have ever got was back
in 1968 for a 30 min stop and then again in
1993 on a KC-135 when we stopped in Reykjavik for about 15 minutes..
Did not get off the plane either time...
Beautiful country....

I got to spend about a year in Iceland, in 1977. Was at the Keflavek Navel Air station. Was only an E-2 then, only got to go off base one lousy time.
So I didn't get to see much :mad:

But I do remember the excellent Cod fish would could get at the USO club. :bow1:

are there no trees due to elevation? does'nt matter its still beautiful. like the staintunes.

I can just stare into the water on that fiirst picture, and imagine a killer whale break the surface.... nice
