i just bought a starcom1 about a month ago and never installed it in my concours. i used it a couple times by just tossing it into a tankbag a running it off batteries.
i want to mount it permenantly on the st when i get it, and run it off bike power. anyone have any tips for the install? like where to mount the unit. is there room under the seat? anyone have any pics?

I've got mine in the tail section....sort of behind the seat. The only prob. with this install is that you have to be very carefull of input cable routing. Too close to the coils on either side will result in engine noise. I've put a bulkhead connector on the dash. Ran a cable under the seat for the iPod in the tank bag. If you need I'll grab some photo's when I get home tomorrow.

that would be cool, if it's not too much trouble.....

Mine is in the tail as well. The "slot" for the toolkit (?) under the pillion seat works great. The rubberband tiedown for the toolkit even fits. I have my helmet leads running out from under the back seat and used the plastic cap / foam tape mounts that came with the setup.

I'll be there this Thursday or we can get together another day. I work in Plano, so it's easy for me to take a run out to Wylie and let you look at how it's hooked up.
