As per request, here's a few pics of how I did my Starcom install.

This is how the unit sits in the cavity. The grey case is a an old Progressive Suspension tire repair kit I use to store hardparts, fasteners and a few common 3/8 drive sockets and allen drivers. It's the perfect size for a wedge. You can see the pillion headset lead tucked in above. The cable exiting is the PTT switch thats mounted on the passenger grab rail. I've given up getting the vox to work well, so I've given the PTT switch to the pillion and use the iPod's remote to mute the tunes on my end. The unit is encased in a homemade sleeve of 3/4 inch foam.
Here's the unit removed for adjustment.

The music lead runs under the seats to the tankbag enclosed iPod

The Bulkhead fitting for the rider headset is mounted in the left hand speaker grill. Mine's just a little too close to the pocket lid for the lid to clear easily when the headset lead is plugged in. If you go this route make sure you check your clearances better than I did. :o:

The cables from the bulkhead fitting and V1/SPIII outputs I had to run inside the wishbone, along the airbox to get away from some ignition noise. The cables exit under the seat adjuster at the base of the tank and then run to the rear. At first I just used a standard audio cable from the V1/SPIII and had much interference. A dedicated cable from Starcom fixed this. Not only is the Starcom cable shielded, it seems to have a noise filter at the Starcom end as well.
Any specific questions...... ask.
