I don't know if this is an inherent problem, but this happened to me this evening. I had removed the liner to wash it and was putting it back in. To remove the liner I had to remove the cheek pads. For some reason one of the cheek pads wouldn't snap. A closer inspection as to why revealed that the snap that holds it to the side of the helmet had broken! I don't have any snaps that will fit, and it looks like a proprietary item and I will have to order the black plastic piece that holds the female side of the snap. I hope this is possible.
SOOO---when removing the cheekpads, be CAREFUL!!! It could be disastrous. Good thing I saved my Shoei full face helmet.

How old is the helmet ?
Did the snap on the cheek pad breake ? If so, even if not under warranty, you can get new cheekpads quite eassy.
Call CIMA Intl. (Nolan importer) at 866-2HELMET or e-mail helmets@aol.com for further details.
Good luck,

Same thing happened to me. Nolan sent me a whole new cheekpad, free. The helmet was over two years old and won at a rally. CIMA Intl. at 866-2HELMET, great customer service. Make sure you tell them the correct size and R or L cheekpad.

It wasn't the cheekpad. There's a black plastic piece that fits in at the lower forward tip of the helmet shell itself. It also contains a stainless steel piece that helps secure the face shield when it's locked down. Two small screws hold this in place.
Check out the photo. The point of the screwdriver points to where the snap is supposed to go. I hope CIMA Int'l. can provide a replacement.

Please let us know how this turns out. My wife's brand new N100e did the same thing. My problem is that Nolan is no longer distributed in Canada so I'll have to order the part from the US importer if it's available. TIA

The good news is that CIMA, Int'l, the U.S. distributor for Nolan, is sending me a whole new piece. It's not the snap on the cheekpad that failed, it's the one on the little black plastic part that the cheekpad snaps to. Anyway, there was no question about it and no charge. The part is on the way. :D
