I am manufacturing a new type of highway peg for the ST-1300. There is full information on my website, located @ http://www.bucksporttouring.com

Please feel free to contact me via email (lrbuck@aol.com), this list, or directly by phone @888/835-0805 with any questions you may have. Thanks for your interest in my products.

Do you have any pictures you can share of what the mounting mechanism looks like? Have you consider black powder coating the whole thing so it blends in more with the bike? There's little or no chrome on the ST.

Will the mounts accomodate a different peg possibily from Kurakyn? If so would you sell the mounts seperately? Do the mounts have to be welded or do they bolt on?

I know it's not what you were asking but inquiring minds want to know.

Sorry for all the pestering questions.

Larry, those look great.

Not crazy about the look of the pegs but I've yet to see one I think looks like it 'belongs' on the ST. However, until someone develops the 'hidden pegs' in the tipover wing like some of the BMWs the peg style, it will just be a personal preference. Riding comfort is the main focus here.

I like the placement of the bracket and my only suggestion would be to offer 3 possible 'sizes' or make it adjustible enough for a taller/shorter/average rider. It may be fine as it is for most riders, I always put my legs on top of the pegs when I had them on other bikes, never really used my feet on them and it seems to work better for me. So, this may be a non-issue.

Great work and thanks for being a vendor that listens to your customer in order to give them what they want, THAT will benefit everyone.

Also, this is a Wingers' opinion so please accept my apology if it's not appropriate.

Joe's reply sounds a lot less annoying than mine. ;)

Do you have a picture that is just in Jpeg or something such as that? I am using al linux box and I don't have it set up to deal with much of anything at the monent other than just the standard photo formats.

Thanks,
George

crazykz - The mount fastens to the tube paralleling the fairing, under the cover, no welding is required. As to powder coating the peg assembly, it can be done, but at additional cost - I'll look into it for you. Yes, the mount is available separately. The hole size is 1/2" diameter, which will allow the use of nearly any peg. The peg style is a tough one, I've looked at quite a few of them, but felt the less chrome the better but it's a subjective thing and I'm open to suggestions from you and others. Thanks for your questions.

Mellow - I considered the "bat wing" style of pegs that would come out of the edge of the cover. They are beautiful, BUT present serious issues with ground clearance. This design is about my 6th or 8th try at this, that has taken way too long (it's not my full time job). But I made the decision to not make pegs that exit under the cover or the edge of the cover for liability reasons among others. The peg location can be changed slightly, but the area where it mounts is not very long. Riders that have sat on the bike have ranged from 5'-6" to 6' or so, and they said the position was comfortable for them. As far as laying your ankle over the peg instead of placing your foot on it, many riders do the same thing to have another position for their legs. Thanks for your questions too.

OpenOffice, I think will open word docs. If you don't have that here's a PDF.

Thanks for the pdf file, nice looking peg setup, still havn't decided if I want or need them on the ST though, if I do I'll be checking into these more seriously.
