I am about to purchase a new ST1300 and have already been trying to figure out the best audio solution. I need something with interfaces that can do the following:
Stereo Radio Audio
Driver/Passenger Intercom
Police Scanner Audio
Motorola Jedi Series Transceiver for Amateur Radio/GMRS
I have started to look and read about these units from Autocom - anyone have an opinion from your experiece if I am on the right track with their units?
Thanks for any help - Curt

I went with the Autocom active 7 smart kit. Wired second bucket, Escort 8500, iPod, Motorola cell... on all acounts it works as advertised and has exceeded my expectations. Worth every penny, and you can probably get good deal from the folks in TX that we did the group buy with... search the group buy threads for details, very fine folks to work with. We even have some threads to help with the the helmet install.
edit> here's that info:
"The dealer we are using is BMW Motorcycles of North Dallas (they are also a Ducati, MV Augusta, and Triumph dealer). The are open Tuesday - Saturday, 10-6 during the week and 9-4 on the weekends. When you call, ask for Robert in Parts. Their phone number is 972-881-0774."

You want the best, go with Autocom or Baehr but Autocom seems to be preferred. If cost is an issue consider the MIT-100 setup. $200 includes everything, including 4 headsets and push to talk plus a powerlet adaptor.
Hey are you planning on coming to the Ride to Eat in Galena? Not sure when you're taking delivery of the ST but you don't need it anyway. You could come and check out what people are using. I wanted it in Madison at the Quaker Steak but the overwhelming majority wanted some futher south and west.

Now we'll see if anyone from Iowa or Minnesota actually shows.

The Autocom Active 7 Smart is a very small package with very big performance. It sounds like you probably have high expectations. You won't be dissatisfied.
We always ride 2-up and have personally tested the Autocom to 134mph actual (142 indicated).
Connected to my Autocom is a Yaesu VX7R, Garmin 2610 GPS, radar detector and cell phone. People on the phone can't even tell we're doing 75mph on a motorcycle.

As mentioned before, the only thing that will stop the people from Minnesota from being there is will be a major flood or other natural disaster.
As of today, there will be 3 guys from work riding down with me and any other ST owners in the greater Twin City area that would like to ride with us, please IM me for details regarding time and meeting place.
