i'm working on a deal with the guy to make mounting hardware for thr st1300 for this top box, and will end up with one, probably the 46liter one.
might be able to talk him into a discount for stoc if anyone's interested...

Saw one just this Saturday on a Concours. There were plenty of Givis in the group and at a distance, you can barely make out the differences. It looked good and stable. The only problem the owner mentioned was having trouble with the brake light contacts. He only recently got the trunk and installed it and has not had alot of time to troubelshoot the problems. In looking at it with him, I think the contact leads on the lid just aren't matching up with the contacts on the base and need to be appropriately bent. Either way, it looks like a great inexpensive alternative. Thank you for stepping up and helping Murph with this. I know he is very willing and able as I helped him in the past for engine side covers and master cylinder covers screw kit for the older V4's (Manga and Sabres)...

my friend told me that there was an st that came along on a TCAT ride this weekend....said he was from somewhere north of dallas. was that you?
i have had 2 givi top boxes, and the brake light is a common problem on those boxes too. in fact, i gave up trying to keep the thing working, and just put hyperlites on my other bikes. i liked them better anyway. when i get the shad i will most likely not use the brake light on that box either.

Indeed it was. That was a great bunch of folks and I look forward to more riding with them. I've waited years for my Saturdays to finally be freed up, somewhat...

just got my new 46L Shad top box. i am really pleased so far. quality looks to be 1st rate. and i think it looks better than the givi e52 i had on the connie. i also like the way the pop-up handle and latch work better than the givi.....better price too!......i still don't like the fish name, though....

Did you get a mount made for the ST, or did you use the generic mount I saw on the webstie?
Thanks,

I saw the Shad cases at Murph's house a couple weeks ago. They are much nicer then I expected! I was really impressed with the quality and look.
Kevin - do I take seeing your post here to mean that you are heading (or headed) to Abernathy's shortly after me ;-) Murph told me you were thinking about it :-)

damn shame that we were a couple weeks apart! We could have met up and had a good time in KY!
Reminds me... I'm still running on that TN tag they gave me, haha. I need to go title this baby!!!!!
I found a couple things on mine that you should check. Tires 10lbs low; top right triple clamp pinch bolt was loose; excessive freeplay in the throttle. I also noticed that the magnet in the final drive fills up fast, so change those fluids!!!

installed the box today, but it's kind of a temporary job. i am in the process of making a mount for the st1300 and i mounted the box on a kind of a prototype....thought ya'll might wanna see the trunk though....
