I have seen pics of opened saddlebags for the ST, where bungee cord of some type are strung in a criss-cross fashion inside (to hold stuff in place), in the lid, and on the inner half of the saddlebag. Where do you guys get these from?

Tor,

You need the ones from Hopnel. 2 sets do ya. I love mine better than the home made rigs.

The pic looks like crap and it's so stretched out on a Wing trunk but they work great in the ST bag. They come in a pair so I got one pair for each bag.

Tor: If you are wanting the cords until you get the nets (if you want them) I bought mine at Wally World - mini bungee cords - they came 4 to a pack I believe

Made mine out of 3/16" bungee cord and s hooks. Got the bungee at the canvas shop that sews up my boat tarp after the Texas sun and wind does it's thing to it. I think it was about $.15 a foot or something close to that.

I second the hopnel nets, one of the best things I've bought for the bike..:D

I'll go ahead and order 2 sets of Hopnels today. Thanks for the link. Just have to figure out how to secure them to the bags when I get them :)

they come with hooks that go in the loops built into the bag... nothing to figure out!

You're all set. It's got the loops and the nets have the hooks. Ain't that great.

Hmm. Just 3 leads going into the bag, so it can't be a radio, or mp3, or anything else with sound.

Curt..Greg has got extra brake lights and turn signals mounted to the back and side of the saddle bags..Thats what the wiring is..He did a really good job and they look integrated.

I've been behind him a couple of times and they work really well..
I know he has pics on the board of this so i'm sure he'll chime in..

Good story, Todd. Don't let Curt know that Greg has a cloaking device, rigged into his saddlebags bags, that makes his ST undetectable on all types of radar or laser devices. The additional benefit is that it also stuns deer and moose in their tracks and thus prevents collisions :D .

I knew Curt would ask about those wires, you just can't put anything past the man. I hope the military doesn't see that picture.

I set mine up the way the BMW bags come stock using shock cord from a camping store. I don't like all of that netting in the bag.

Hey man, sorry, I missed this the first time around... here's a post that describes the end result, can share the specifics of how I put them together in more detail if you're interested.
