Just curious how others are providing power to the Quest from their ST's. I had the Garmin GPS V and was able to use a BMW type power cord, which I connected to my Powerlet, but it doesn't look like the Quest has this type of hookup.
Thanks for any info...

Be careful the input to the Quest is 5V@1A not 12V like the GPS V.
You can order the RAM Mount: http://www.gpscity.com/item-npi-garmin-quest-cradle/ramholga15.htm
Then unscrew the connector from the stock auto cradle and attach it to the RAM Mount

I mounted my Quest on the front brake master cylinder reservoir cover and connect it to the 12V “ignition on” from the Honda’s accessories harness. I used Garmin’s motorcycle mount for Quest with home machined aluminum bracket. Works great.

Rammount now makes a powered mount for the Quest.
It's a little pricey but a clean solution:

Don't know if you have to supply 12V or 5V to it. It doesn't say but they have good support so I would just call.

On the last trip I took, the Quest's internal battery kept it going for over 7 hours which was plenty for me. I'm worn out before it is...

Curt,
That setup is exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks!

Will this Powerlet plug work with this Garmin Cradle? The Garmin Motorcycle cradle comes with bare wires and hopefully I can hook it up to the powerlet plug.
Thanks,
Steve

I don't see why not. You might need some cable to run out of the powerlet instead of just the bare wires from the Garmin harness. If you're considering making the cable a permanent thing you could run those wires right off the quartet harness constant or switched power and skip the powerlet plug.

Thanks Curt for the info.
I am pretty bad when it comes to pretty involved wiring, so I was just trying to find the easiest way of connecting it to my Powerlet outlets.

Oh mighty wiring gurus...I received the cradle and Powerlet plug. I am sure it matters which one I attach the black wire and which one I attach the red wire. Only problem is no diagrams or instructions came with the Powerlet plug. I am attaching a picture, so if anyone could give me advice, it may help me from catching on fire...or at least blowing the fuse :D
Thanks,
Steve

I will do that tomorrow. I need to borrow one from my brother.
Thanks,

And, my commercially purchased powerlet-plug-to-Garmin 2610 power cable expects +12V to be on that center contact.
I don't know if this is a standard or not.
Yep, it is. Negative always goes on the ring and positive on the tip.

Has the QPAC for $54. I think I see one in my future.

It does, mine failed to work until I realised that the cables were the wrong way round  and put them right.
It wasn't obvious, to me anyway which was the right way but it all came right in the end
