I wonder what you guys do to take care of your helmets.

Both my wife and myself use Shoei RF-1000's. Here is what I do on a regular basis: Take the chin pads out, and handwash them in mild soapy water and rinse. While I have the pads out, I clean the inside of the helmet with a damp cloth. Let dry. The outside gets cleaned with Pledge (the real stuff) and then buffed with a clean cloth, along with the faceshield. I also use Pledge on my windshield. Works very good. After the chinpads are back in, and the inside is dry, it gets a good spray of "Febreeze" on the inside. No more sweaty smells. Works wonders. Good to go for another 3 months.

I buy a cheap but good helmet and retire it after two years. Haven't noticed any smell.

I've got some helmet refreshner stuff that you just spray all over the inside and let dry... Haven't had a helmet smell since I started doing that.
