headlight bulbs

I recently purchased a 91 and found out I can easily outride the wimpy headlamps. You know you have a problem when the bike behind you throws a shadow of your bike into your own headlight beam.

I am running with a stock alternator but the only 'extra' is my Garmin GPS, what bulb can I go to safely?

Quick answer: I'd go with 55/60 watt H4s with adapter shims.
