My 91 headlamps suck. What are my options. I have stock alternator and only my Garmin GPS as extra draw.

This is one of the most popular ways to go. Clicky (http://www.casporttouring.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=17120&Category_Code=st1100_electrical) There are other suppliers. The Phillips Vision Plus bulb is my favorite in the ST11 and the 13.

You could go all out with some PIAA 910's and some dick Seng brackets or just some new bulbs for you main headlights. You will nee H4's
I have the PIAA extreme white plus on my FJR and love them. But if you wanted to stay with just the H4's and be real bright you could get some of the new GT-X they only use about 55watts but have an equivalent output of a 135watt halogen bulb.

With the original alternator, any serious upgrades will contribute to the ticking time bomb called the alternator. I had 80/120 H4s modified to fit in the stock sockets, heated grips, and heated vest going for about 3 hours the day before my alternator died. If bulbs are the only electrical mod you have, it won't be as bad, but still the alternator is only a matter of time.

You can get way cool H4 style bulbs with various wattages at most ATV supply places for about $15 each. Just don't tell them it's for a street machine. None of them are "legal" for street use. You can make them fit with bulb rings from Cal Sport Touring (http://www.casporttouring.com/) or STA (http://www.sporttouringusa.com)

STA and others offer an adaptor ring which allows the use of standard H-4 bulbs in the Honda headlamp assy, by cutting off one of the locating tabs on th bulb. Abot 12 bucks/pair, IIRC.
The Motolite, a 35w/each lamp, mounts on the fork leg, or on the caliper bracket, and offers a lot of light 'looking in' to a turn, that a frame mounted headlamp cannot; just a thought!
Ride long, and safe, Terry

I have the Phillips Vision Plus in my bike and they make a BIG difference. Check my webshots album in my sig for before / after pics with the stok bulbs. Keep in mind that the headlight had not been re-aimed yet in the pics of the Phillips bulbs, but you can tell the difference in light output. I got my bulbs and adaptor rings from http://www.casporttouring.com/
