This year Lisa announced that a IBR rider must accumulate 60000 points to be considered a finisher. If you look at the current standings I'm not sure how many of them are actually going to make that mark. It seems a bit high to me. I thought the reason they did this was to keep people from riding checkpoint to checkpoint but from the looks of it, it doesn't seem like anyone is doing that.
To me if I'm riding 11000 miles in 11 days and collecting somewhere around 40000-59999 points it wasn't like I was taking it easy. You really have to bust your hump to do it. Just seems harsh for someone to bust their hump and probably place somewhere near the middle or just above that but not be considered a finisher because they didn't get 60000 points.
