View Full Version : Weekend ride
Packed up the bike, Headed north. Inital plan was to head for Duluth and
the North Shore of Lake Superior, but at the last minute, the wife and I
decided to haead over to Lake Itasca Mn and the headwaters of
the Mississippi river. Judy had never been there, and it has been over
40 years since I have been there... Total miles 1361, 3 days, 2 nights..
longest day 522 miles.

Woww Putt, thanks for the pictures. Great shots of the not-so-big, not so muddy Miss. In a few weeks a bunch of us are going to the source of the Connecticut river. You just built up my anticipation for that ride.
BTW, are you the second from the left in photo #4. I think I recognize the profile :) .

Nice pictures Putt, the river sure is a far cry of what it becomes as it winds its way south, nice and clean etc. Pretty part of the country up along the river road. Was at lake Pepin two years ago on a ride. :biker:

Putt... Great Pic's. Lake Pepin is one of my favorites area's some great roads around there, either side of the river.
Hope you didn't run into any of the heavy rains we've had around here the past couple of days. Some of the metro area's have gotten 4 to 6 inches.
Looks like you had one great trip.

Rain??? Man did it rain :) Stayed Saturday night in St. Cloud,
made it to the construction zone on 494. Had to stop under an
overpass and put on the rain gear...Got it on just in time..
torrential downpour for a couple of miles, then a steady heavy
rain down to Cabelas in Owatonna. Heavy sprinkle from there to
Albert Lea where it stopped....

This pic is looking at the Wisconsin bluffs from the Minnesota side. My house is about six miles to the right.
