Hi All,

I'm planning a Baltimore to Niagara Falls trip next week with leasurely 250-300 mile days. I would appreciate any suggestions on:

- must ride roads
- must see sites/attractions
- lodging
- dinning

My current plan is:

(Day 1) Straight line cross country toward Niagara with a lay over somewhere, in northern PA or southern NY.

(Day 2-3) Into Niagara/Ontario with an overnight. Any day trip suggestions?

(Day 4) Niagara through Finger Lakes turning south to parrallel the Sequehanna river into Scranton for the night.

(Day 5) Back to Baltimore, unless I get a better offer while on the road :)

Appreciate any suggestions, thanks all.

Hi Nik,

Coming in from the south end of NYS, you have the opportunity to ride through the Finger Lakes region north to Lake Ontario and then west in to Niagara Falls.

Might I suggest coming up via Horseheads, or Painted Post, or Elmira (lots of scenic roads in all areas), over to Watkins Glen (Seneca Lake) and then west to Hammondsport (Keuka Lake) over the Bristol Hills to Naples, and then up Route 21 (Canandaigua Lake) to Victor, north past Rochester, to the Lake Ontario Parkway, and west along the Parkway (Lake Ontario) to the Niagara River and to the Falls.

This isn't the fastest route by any means, but certainly some of the prettiest country in western NY. Feel free to PM me if you would like more detailed information on routes.

Ken,

Thank you for the suggestions, I was planning a departure from Niagara via the Finger Lakes on day 4. I was considering a route through Geneva and between Seneca and Cayuga lakes down to Ithaca. I think I'll research your route west of Seneca lake.

Thanks much and keep the information flowing!

Route 6 accross northern Pa is nice you could stop at the Grand Canyon of Pa. Really there is one there! Nice road small towns and you could still cut north to the finger lakes. :03biker:

STeve,

PA Rt. 6 looks to have a bit too much East/West in it; but I'll take a closser look. Thanks for the input.
