WeSToc was definitely a good time.

There was even truth in advertising (http://www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5925).

You will also meet the nicest people at a Honda based event called WESTOC. My wife & I were first timers & arrived under the worst circumstances, for me anyway. Just two days before the event, while installing the tires that have been in my garage for a couple of months, I find bad drive flange bearings & no replacement parts available for the ST. We had to move into plan “B” & at the last minute loaded the V-Strom into the back of the pick up & had to haul the bike to the rally. (I still can’t believe that chain of events took place, I know there is a lesson in there somewhere) As soon as we arrived we were welcomed with open arms. Attendees jumped right in & helped me unload the Suzuki from the truck with minimal joking, even. I was braced & ready for a lot more…

We checked into our room & then came down to the atrium to register for the event. As soon as we got off the elevator people started introducing them selves to us & we were making new friends. Being “first timers” we were given green ribbons when we registered, this proved to be a great concept, every time we turned around we were greeted & talked to by “old timers” We really felt welcome!

Because of the great planning WESTOC was totally enjoyable form the start to the banquet on Thursday night. The hotel facility was perfect for this type of event. There were some maps of “Suggested” rides posted. The two rides we chose to take were just awesome. We were treated to roads you would not have found on your own. We had the pleasure of riding in the company of some real fun fellow enthusiasts. We’re already making plans for next year.

It was good to meet you Bob, and believe me, the 'Strom was much easier to unload then an ST. BTDT more than once. See ya in Golden. :)

Thanks Steve,

Got the ST all back together & was able to take her for a test ride today. It would be great if we could we just do the whole WESTOC Thing over again next week!

Boy, it's gonna be a long year....
