View Full Version : Corbin Seat Adjustment Question

I purchased STeed with a Corbin standard seat on it.

I have read on Corbin's website that the seat can only be placed in the 'low' setting. Before I read the information I had already adjusted the seat to the middle position and got it to go on there. After reading that it should only go in the low setting I put it back.

Anyone know why the seat is only supposed to fit in the low setting?
And what will happen if I put it in the middle position?

Thanks,

Scott Toler

My new Corbin seat would only go into the low position so I moved the bolts holding the back portion of the mounting assembly to different holes (already drilled and tapped from the factory, just take them out and move bracket, thread bolts into different holes)...now it goes into the middle position...soon I'll be putting spacers on the aluminium blocks where the 'tabs' engage so I can hit the high position if needed.

Either yours has already been adjusted or it had a slightly different fit allowing it to go into the middle position...
Either way I don't see any problems with using the other positions, others have done the same without any bad results.

I had a Corbin seat for a short time before I got rid of it. I found that I could use those plastic cable zip ties to hold the bar the seat slips under in place for whatever position I wanted to keep it in. Worke great.

Just out of interest, did the previous owner not have the stoc seat also ?

Never hurts to ask .... :)

Are you referring to the full seat or the front section only.
They adjust differently.

Yep, he gave it to me, and I gave it to my dad to have it re-shaped and re-foamed for his STeed.

I have the seat adjuster zip-tied in the middle position (so it doesn't pop into the low position on bumps), and I put the Corbin tab on TOP of the adjuster. It's held in place by the tank. They guys at Corbin freaked out when they saw it, but shrugged and went with it when I showed them how I wanted it.
