I have my ST13 in Los Angeles for the rest of the year (it and I would otherwise be in the Dallas, TX area) and I'm going to hit the 16k mark on a ride next weekend. I'll need to find a local dealer to have service done. Any recommendations? If it makes a difference, I office in Culver City and tend to stay in Marina Del Rey.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Honda of Santa Monica (located on Lincoln Blvd., in Marina Del Rey) This is the only shop I would let near my valves.

I have a lot of history with this place after working my way through some of the other dealers in L.A.

Shoot me an email or P.M. and I can give you some of the background. The service manager comes across a bit rough, but he's a good guy and knows his stuff.

+1 on SM Honda of MDR. They don't suck, like all the rest of the LaLa stealers.

Scheduled for the 16k check-up next weekend at Honda of Santa Monica (even though it's in Marina del Rey). Spoke to "Red" as Clark suggested and should be good to go. Thanks much.

I haven't picked up the bike, yet (do that tomorrow), so I can't speak to the work itself. But, it's Sunday afternoon and I got a call from Red asking if he needed to get the bike ready for me today! Awesome.

I've NEVER had a dealer call with an offer like that (hell, I've had others I bought bikes from say "NO" to a request to wait for me 10 mins past closing time to drop one off or pick one up!) and I've been on Hondas since 1974. Never. Nada.

Now, I can only hope the work is that thorough! Report later this week. I can tell you that a really good dealer can make a HUGE difference in the ownership "experience". Huge (to me, anyway). I've dumped or avoided bikes because I couldn't find a supportive dealer.
