View Full Version : The new seat just came in
I placed an order for a Top Saddlery seat (saddle) on August 29 and it arrived today. Fit and finish is excellent and the initial butt test says A+. The foam feels very supportive but with a little more cush than the stock. I'm gonna do a 200 mile test run today and will report back. Here are a few pics.

That is one fine looking seat, now go take that 200 mile ride and let us know what you think of it.
Well, I didn't get to ride as far as I wanted but I did get in about 160 miles. Rode up to Lewisville, AR with the intentions of going on up to Hope then over to Texarkana and then back down. Whew, it's hot out there. The temp indicated on the ST stayed 103-105* Anyway, the seat is comfortable. It puts you closer to the handlebars and the riding position is more upright. No strain on the back, arms, or palms and my butt isn't sore inspite of the temperature outside. Definitely worth the $300.

Very nice!! (nice truck too!) What seat did you have before this purchase? Do u have a link? I'm considering switching seats from a R. Meyer to a more comfortable one.
"Ferry Ferry" Nice,,,,but I have already made my mind up on a Russell. Is that vinyl or leather? How much does it cost to fill the Chevy up?

Thanks. Besides the stock seat on the ST1300, this is the only seat that I have tried/ridden with. I did get a chance to sit on an ST that had a Sargent and it felt pretty good. Past experience with other bikes, I had a Travelcade seat on the ST1100 (was decent) and a Corbin on the Kawasaki ZRX which I never could break in.....hard as a brick. So far, my impression of the Top Saddlery is that it is a good blend between soft and firm.....very supportive but with some degree of softness.....feels nice. I no longer slide around as I did on the stock seat and the bike feels more controllable/maneuverable particularly in the curves. The seat is made in France and they use their own pan so you don't have to give up your seat while it's being made. Took about 3 weeks to get here. Here's a link to their site: topsaddlery.com (http://www.topsaddlery.com/en/index.php4) The seat cost just over $300 including shipping.

It's vinyl. They have just about any selection/style of material that you could want. Ummm, the truck.......it would take about $65 to fill it up if bone dry at $2.49/gal. Was costing about $48 until Katrina. It has a 327 V8 and averages about 21mpg vs. the 03 F-150 supercrew which only got about 13mpg with a 4.6 289? V8......is why it (Ford) no longer sits on the driveway or in the garage.

You must have a small butt.
I just had my Russell reshaped and the back vertical section is clear at the back, on my seat. That's what it needs for my big butt.

Hi g17, did the top saddlery seat raise your seat height any? I'm 5'6" and cannot flat foot now with the stock, and all the comfortable seats reviewed so far would seem to put the ground out of reach for me. It looks very nice, and $300 without giving up the stock seat is a great plus!
