The Pony Express will start in Florida... at each stop, there will be a Ride to Eat get together of at least 3 riders. The Vest with the "Pony Express" and the PBTF on it will be handed off to the next groups that will continue on to the next destination when able....

This is not a race...just riders meeting riders and raising a little $ for a good cause.. :headbang:

As of 9:16 (CDT) Thursday, plan is to rendezvous with with Benbucktoff sometime Saturday in Montgomery for the hand-off.
My plan is to ride up and back from Pensacola (maybe some back roads, time permitting) and then make the run to Baton Rouge the following Thursday (2 July), by passing an actual stop in Jackson MS. Handoff could be Thursday afternoon/evening or Friday morning. Still open to other suggestions.

If Chris can get the PE to Houston on Friday or early Saturday morning....I can make the run on Saturday (July 4th) to Dallas via San Antonio.

Hummm....well, I refuse to attend any RTE at the hospital cafeteria!! Just isn't goin' happen. LOL Good luck with the surgery!

If Chris or others get the PE to Houston this weekend, I'll drop it by your place on the way home to Dallas. I've got to head for Santa Fe soon for work...so will proabably miss other opportunites.

Ok....I'm picking the PE up from Chris Mixon tomorrow in Centerville, TX. I can meet with any Houston riders for dinner on the 3rd...or breakfast the 4th. I'm moving the PE to San Antonio on the 4th. I'll leave the bag with Tankereng so that he can ride some of the legs after his minor surgery recovery! I think LLDave had expressed interest in the Houston/SA leg...
Let me know.

Great you're ok!
I'll make the run on Saturday morning from Houston...all Houston folks are welcome and encouraged to ride with me!...and leave the PE bag with my brother. That way, you'll get your leg in after recovery!

I've got the bag and SPOT..which I have to figure out. LOL .... just west of Houston. I'll start off early tomorrow morning for San Antonio. Hot, hot, hot today....as I entered Houston...the bike temp was 105...that was ok...until the traffic jam in Conroe. Bumper to bumper for over an hour.
Chris and I had a nice lunch at Woody's Smokehouse in Centerville.

Forest,
The instruction sheet is in the bag and there is also an extra set of batteries in case it runs out when somebody is on the road.
Ride safe

Ok...back in Dallas! Two very hot days of riding....afternoon temps Friday hit 107 on the bike. Today...as I entered Dallas, 105. 1009 miles, two days...
I'll post up a few images after dinner. I got the vest photo at Huntsville State Park. So..at least one Texas State Park has been visited.

The pool felt good upon arriving home. :-)

Got the sheet....but I was not able to get the SPOT to link up with sats. Not sure what was wrong...(probably something I was or wasn't doing).

Forest

OK...edit: I went to the SPOT page and it appears to have worked fine for my leg today. :-)
