The Second Annual Dying Leaf Rally is set for November 4-6 based out of Clarksville, Arkansas. Last year we got lucky with perfect weather and had a really great time and we hope for more of the same this year. I will hand out some suggested routes/maps, but as always your free to ride your own ride. Its a great way to wind up the Fall Season in Arkansas. I hope some of you all will join us.
I set this ride up through the Concours Owners Group; however, everyone is welcome. We had about 20 riders last year including some STs, Triumphs, BMWs, FJRs, etc. I know at least one new ST that will be there this year.
Make your reservations at the Best Western Sherwood Inn.

Hello Kevin,
Make that two ST's. I'm coming up Thursday night and leaving with the group Friday morning. Staying at a Motel 6 that Jeff referred me to. I'm having some minor health issues right now but they should subside by then. Another friend recommended that I get up to Roaring River State Park (RRSP) in Southwestern MO. if I can squeeze it in. I checked out some roads from Eureaka Springs Ark to RRSP and back and they look awesome!!! Only a few extra miles (about 70 round trip) too. There's a general store and a trout stream in the park that is supposed to be very nice.
I've known Jeff for quite a while and I'm looking forward to meeting you on Friday.

Apologies Kevin,
Jeff mentioned a departure from McDonalds in Sachse at 8:00am sharp on Friday. I'm meeting him at 7:15 at a Gulf Station near Marsh and Keller Springs and I believe we're heading to the McDonalds from there.

what a great ride! the fall colors were better than i have ever seen in arkansas, and the weather was near perfect. we had a variety of bikes including 6 connies, an intruder, a yamaha venture, a triumph st, 3 yam fjrs, and 3 st1300s, one guy rode all the way from indianna.
the only thing that kinda sucked was that there were wet spots and wet leaves on the roads till after noon. had to be kinda careful, but we didn't have any problems.
i hope there are more sts there next year.

I had a great time and the colors were absolutely spectacular. I would really like to go again next year. If it's based in Mountain Home there would be much greater access to riding in southern Missouri as well.

Hello Kevin,
Spingtime riding sounds pretty good. I'll probably get out to the hill country for a long day-ride during Thanksgiving weekend. There are a couple of trips that I would like to take: 1) Big Bend and 2) East Texas from Longview to Davey Crockett National Forest. I haven't done any east Texas riding and I really like the pines.
Jeff said you guys had a great ride home. I'm envious. I Superslabbed the ride home on I-40 to 69 to 75 to I-35. I left at 5:10am and arrived at 2:40pm. The temps were 40 degrees from west of Clarksville through most of Oklahoma and rose to 91 in Salado at 2:00pm!!! It was approx. 550 miles and slightly less than two tanks of gas and no tickets.
Take Care,
David
