I was just curious if you guys could tell me which after martket seat would be best for 5'9" guy. I bought the Corbin solo seat and lost some seat height. Instead of being flat footed I am on the balls of my feet. I am not real comfortable being on the balls of my feet so I am starting to look for something for the short guy.
Thank you in advance.
I'm also about 5'9" and have no difficulty flat-footing with a Sargent seat.

I agree, I love my Sargent seat at 5' 10" with a 29 in inseam. :biker:

5' 7", 30" inseam
I could stand flat footed with the stock seat and couldn't stand flat footed with a Rick Mayer, Sargent, Corbin, or Russell. The bike is too heavy to be on tip toes. With the sheepskin pad (very comfortable) I can still go flat footed, though just barely.

Sounds like I need a Sargent  I have a Corbin solo... even though it has... compressed  after a few thousand miles, I still tippy toe but seems easier to push around now... Might put the stocker back on just to see the difference. Another seat... woo hoo
I am also vertically challenged 5'6" and bought a Russell, have only had it a week and still in the break in process.
With a pair of Harley Davidson boots that have 2" heels I can flat foot when riding 2 up, if I slide way up on the seat, it is almost like riding a bicycle where you have to move off of the seat when you stop. When riding solo I can almost flat foot. I talked to the seat builder at Russell and told him that ground reach was critical. I am happy with the results, we rode over 200 miles last Saturday and ended up in a slow traffic line for an antique car hill climb and with my wife on board I was able to comfortably (and safely) negotiate the slow stop and go traffic.
The other thing was we did not experience ANY butt burn, she is now ready for a longer trip.

I have a Russell. 5'9" with a 32" inseam. As Dub said, I do have to move foward at stops. It was a bit strange at first by I quickly adjusted too it. The seat is fantastic. I have no complaints.
I bought a used Russell not long ago and I liked how it worked as far as my footing arrangement, but I didn't like how it pushed me up into the tank. I recently bought a Corbin solo and while it is a little higher, I like the seating arrangement better.
I will be putting my Russell for sale over the next couple days or so is anyone is interested.

BuffetMaster was right... you have a closet full of seats, next to your wifes shoes don't you?

SpEd Marcos? :p:
You guys are too much. At least I'm trying to thin the herd. LMAO!
If you have a Russell that you are not happy with why have you not sent it back to them for an adjustment? They guarantee that you will be happy with their seat or they will refund your money, they ask that you give them two opportunities to make it right.

Hi DubT,
I bought it used so I have no documentation about the seat such as when it was purchased, etc. I had the Corbin Dual Canyon, the Russell, and now the Corbin solo. The Russell is by far the most comfortable and easy for me to reach the ground on, but I'm liking my Corbin Solo.
