I promised my wee one that I would take her into school on the "Red Princess" when it got cooler. It was 63 this morning as I was promptly told this by my news watching daughter :p:

After finding some warm close and bundling her up... I was looking at a big kolache waiting to go  She couldn't stand still, bouncing around... a real pain puting her boots on

Once outside we started the "Red Princess" so she could warm up... she already had her helmet on with her cat ears and tail blowing in the breeze... hooked up her chin strap and put her gloves on... the chatter box started... :) Placed her on the bike against the top box as she just giggled and giggled. I jumped on and kicked up the stand... "You ready?"... she grabbed me, "Yes!"... off we went on the "Red Princess".

On the main road we came to the 4way stop. Did my usual roll to stop no feet action since there was nobody at the intersection... she thought that was "neat!". I usually blow thru the rest of the road, but there are 3 mobile home parks with migrant workers who just whipout on you, so I just took my time with my priceless cargo on board.

Rolled into Tigerland Daycare with a couple other kiddos getting dropped off... oh the faces when they saw her ride :D Picked her up and set her down, took her backpack out of the topbox and inside we went, helmet and all :p: The ears and tail were the rage.... took her helmet said my usual goodbye and hugs... her eyes and smile said it all :)

This 5 minute ride will last a lifetime for her... me too ;)

What a wonderful memory. I have mine and it will never be forgotten :D . It took my son a week to get rid of the smile and the giggles.

Awww, man, I wished I could experience something like that. I can just see her smile all the way from here. Priceless, Rob.

Rob,
Great story... Took my grandaughter for her first ride
a month or so ago... She was bound and determined that
she was NOT gonna get on the bike... We finially talked her
into it (she is five) got her helmet and gear on, had the wife
put her on the bike after I got on it... Didn't go far, (walking
speed with your feet down limits your travel) :) Went around
the block one time, got back, and she absolutely refused to get
off the bike....... Lord help me, I think I may have created a
future "biker chick"... Had to bribe her with a "Happy Meal"
to get her off the bike... It was priceless... Now every time she
comes over, she has to have a ride on "grampaws mootersickle, vroom vroom"

Great story - thanks for sharing. My daughter started riding with me when she was about 5 --- thought she was flying on the back of that big cruiser. Couldn't get her older brothers to ride with a bribe!! That's one reason I bought the Shadow 600 couple years ago - so my now grown up girl could have her own ride. She learned to ride, but even the 600 is too big for her to pick up if she drops it ( we learned the hard way). But now she's gone to college, with little time for riding with dad. Enjoy your days with her while she's little, it won't last. But the memories will
