I'm having difficulties getting a reliable voice prompt through my motorcycle power/audio cable. I tried an adapter with my radio earphones.......worked intermitently. Tried a cellphone ear bud and even worse.

If you have tried straight headphones with an adaptor (cellphone ones don't really work) then it's either a bad connection or there's an issue with the unit.

Try and different set of headphones. Then use a pencil eraser and clean the contacts on the garmin and on the cable.

I know quite a few people over here in the UK have had problems with audio from the 2610, myself included. It would seem to be the audio connection supplied with the Garmin bike kit. Evidently it's something to do with the depth of the socket on the Garmin kit. If you put a very thin o-ring or some small fibre washers on the headset audio pin it holds it out the correct distance, so that you get everything lining up correctly inside.
Hope this helped.

Thanks Curt and Redeye! I put a .040 spacer in between the adapter and the audio output and shrink wrapped it all. It's working fine now. Thanks again!
