Has anybody tried this combination? Any interferences?
I have a Touratech mount (065-0066, locking).
Thanks.

Jeez, it's late... all of 7:30, but it feels like 11pm. Damn time change.
Ron Smith.

If you're going to mount it there man talk to me about it. I've got first hand expierence with what works and what doesn't work.
I think Dick Sengs mount with the Garmin cradle is the best for the shelf. I tried a couple others but ended up with the Dick Seng mount.

All I did was took out the two screws out of the bottom of the origanal garmin mount that came with the unit. Then I drilled two holes in the bottom of the plastic of the garmin mount and in the Ron SMith shelf. THen put two black nuts on the screws and it hold very securly in place. The best way to mount it in my opinion. All that silver(Non Black) looks homemade stuff just aint for me. I'll get some pictures takin of my whole set-up here in a day or two.

Thanks. There are two things that I would change about that mount now that I think about it.
1. Change the hinge allen bolts to stainless steel ones.
2. Powdercoat it black.

If your bike is down for any time during the winter send me your mount and I will powder coat black. I have Mirror Black, Gloss Black, Chassis Black.
Paul
Super! If I didn't need it on the way home I would leave it during ValveSTOC. I'll be giving my bike to Rivco after I get back from Texas so I'll have to remember to unmount it. I want to put in stainless steel allen bolts anyway.

Take note of any reflection from oncoming lights that bounce back into the windshield on the next couple of rides. I would tend to lean toward a Flat Black/Chassis Black. This looks like the mount I am going with and I am thinking I will go with a Flat Black.
Paul
Is chassis black any more glossy than flat black?

Chassis Black is considered a Semi-Gloss.
I use Satin Black or what some call Under Hood Black to restore the handle bar switch housings on the old Goldwing's, it is a spot on match to the factory switch housing color.
Flat Black is a new addition and I have not shot anything that color yet, but I have powder on the way.
Paul
Ok, thanks.
I have powder on the way.

Thread Hijack!!! :th1:
Paul, have you ever considered powder coating a set of Kuryakyn Iso-Wings. I'd love to have a set of these on the ST like I had on my Wing, but the chrome would look stupid on the ST. What do you suspect the cost for something like this would be.
Could you powdercoat to match the frame?
Sorry about the thread hijack.

I've seen someone on this board who has had the steed sticks powder coated so I know it's possible.
Yep, and here it is:

Yours will cost double. It's all your fault.
I was perfectly happy without the STeed STicks until you let me sit on your bike and test the fit. Now it's cost me STeed STicks, a dash shelf, a new GPS, a GPS mount, a tank bag, the list goes on and on. It's all your fault.
:)

Thanks Eric. Paul did it up for me very nicely.
Here's picture although you can't really see it that well with the GPS mount in way.
Don't worry I'm waiting to totally abuse you once my pillion seat brackets get here which will hopefully be in the next couple weeks. :)

:th1: Hey Curt. Looking at the pic it looks as if you have your Mix-It in a box. What's the story on that? What kind of box? How weather-proof is it? How'd you do the inputs through the box? (Etc., etc.)
