It's in the 11 second range ... 11.6 something like that. Not a rocket (Honda makes CBR's for that) nor a slouch (Honda makes VTX's for that) ;)
ducking for cover ... VTX owners lurk here somewhere ... :)

I'm not a cruiser fan, but the one VTX that I rode would get up and go!

Quarter-mile acceleration: 12.73 sec. @ 104.65
Slower than the V-Rod and the Vulcan 2000 but not too shabby for a cruiser.

MY VTX does almost 90 in scond and will straighten out your arms.
I only went back to my ST for commuting.
But this ST was soo quiet the DOE never herd me 'till I crippled her!!
and totaled the ride. I know the VTX's ehaust would have sent her running

I agree they dont conner like an ST.
But they do ok. Besides, if Honda wanted
them too, they wouldnt have so many models.

Which only goes to show, a man needs more than one STeed -
1. An ST for Sport Touring !
2. A GL for the wifey ???
3. A cruiser for going to the pub / starbucks / whatever
4. An antique - Norton Commando, Ducati, Bonnieville, etc.
5. A KLR650 / KTM / BMW-GS .... for playing in the dirt :)
Since none of this is possible for me right now, I'll stick with the ST1100 ...

As I recall, the best corrected 1/4 mile time for the ST was 12.3 seconds. There's no way an 1100 will break into the 11's unless it's modified in some way or stripped down to remove a lot of weight.

ST1100
- Best 1/4 mile acceleration - 12.23 sec / 109.7 mph

ST1100ABS - 12.18 sec / 108.7 mph (ABS a little porkier)
ZG1000 - 12.01 sec / 109.7 mph !

Live long a prosper ... :)

I have no idea and wondered this myself ... but I think it has to do with altitute and air temp or someting ... anyone else know ? ... all these tests must have been done in California, as that's where most moto mags are HQ.
