I have ridden behind a bike that had StainTunes and the off throttle decelleration burble is definetly louder. Of course this is expected since the pipes are louder.
Not real familiar with the 'Tunes,
but if the cat. converter is removed,
more fuel/air will make it to the mufflers, so
possibly they might be more prone to backfire
than stock pipes with a converter..
Putt..
I wouldn't say any more than stock. I would say it's more noticable.

Put the Staintunes on about a month ago. Put Turbo Tom's 61 psi FPR, K&N & did the STarter Valve Sync yesterday. Just a few miles since the mods, but found I could get a few "Pops" out of her only when full throttle-off from higher RPMs, not like running glass-packs but it is there.
Yes I do like the pops, esp since it seems that I can control them. Now where did I put those restricters????

Same mods on mine but what starter valve sync are you talking about? ....I can also control mine from popping or not but have noticed it more on the cold mornings lately......

The Starter Valve Sync aka Throttle Body Sync pg 5-79 in the Service Manual helps starting & idling. Pretty much balances the "load" each cylinder carries at idle & just of idle.
You'll need a set of gauges, I bought the Carbtune II, comes with everything you need except a plug for the Pair Valve. Very easy adjustment once you gain access to the throttle body assemblies. i.e. everything you took off to do the FPR swap; upper air box cover, tubes, adapters, lower air box has to be removed.
The hardest part was removing the d@mn vac hoses from the 5-way tee. Do a search for Starter Valve Sync or Throttle Body Sync, several helpful threads w/ pics.

Now there is an understatement.
