I am new to this forum but thought that there might be others with my same delima, how to keep that pesky travel mug from turning over while on the way to work. After a couple of disaterous trips to work with coffee all over my lunch and other contents of my travel bag I set out to solve the problem without spending big bucks. I simply attached a cable organizer to the back of the bag and added a pony tail tie from the dollar store to hold it upright. No more coffee in the bottom. Hope this helps someone out there.

Although thiis solution is a tad more expensive, this works for me. Buy a stainless steel straight sided mug from REI - the one with the cover. It fits perfectly and snugly in the right hand glove box at the top, is secure and doesn't tip at all. I've used this for meg miles and it works great.

The only down side is that you have to lock the throttle to take a drink of coffee. Coffee stays hot for 30-45 minutes max.

I'd be afraid my "boys" might get scalded...

The left hand box is designed to hold a straight sided mug.

And it keeps it heated enroute to the job site...:)

I like your idea. :D

My setup uses a collapsible trash bag I got from Walmart for $4. I hung it in the left bag with the other essentials that live there. Its pretty waterproof so it holds in the spillage if that happens. I usually only carry coffee from the gas station back to work at lunch time. It helps to try and seal the travel lid somehow, to keep the coffee inside the cup. And I don't lean in too far when transporting fluids!

That is a good solution! The way that I keep the contents from spilling is to take a piece of plastic wrap and put it over the top and secure it with a rubber band. It has served me well. The rubber band would probably collapse a styrofoam coffee cup.

I like the netting. Did you make it or was it a finished product? That is what I was originally looking for.

I had bags on my other bike and the space was much more limited so it was easier to keep things straight up. I don't know what to do with all the extra space on the ST. I am sure that it will be filled up in due time. It is one of those unexplained oddities that "stuff" usually expands to fill the space alloted to it. My garage is a perfect example of that!
