I'll let Maggie fill you in on the details as this one's on her bike, not mine. As a "good hubby," I let her score this farkle even though it was intended for me. Her '05 has heat deflectors and the wings seem to work OK, although there is some risk that the little covers on the sides could get dislodged as your leg rubs up against them.

Hi Guys,
I am told that my husband ordered the set that he gave me last February. So, that is about 9 months ago. And yes, I had a Harley before the ST. I got tired of my husband being faster at the top end, more comfortable than me and the final straw was the smooth ride that the ST puts out. I have learned how to get that "growl" out of the ST and that sounds good. :)
I like pushing the ST and love the cornering!
The Highway wings were an easy install. The only trick is lining them up so that they fit snugly into the cut-out of the plastic cover. It took a little time to get them just right, but that was the only challenge to the project. The next set, hopefully, that John gets will go much quicker as I now know what to do to make that perfect adjustment fit. Just keep the bolts at a slightly snug fit and adjust back and forth until it fits just right in the cut-out.
Now, my seat goes off to Russell for the group buy. Love these bikes! Take care - Maggie - :biker:
The supplier of the the wings is Mike Roberts at therackman@hotmail.com

Email Mike at therackman@hotmail.com and he will get you on the list. They run about $250 when he supplies the new covers with the cut-outs. Around $203 if you supply new covers to him.
I was contacted by Mike today. He said my Wings were ready. I placed my order on February 9th.

He answered me on 12/13 from that email address. You might want to just try again. I hope that's still good. It's the only one I've got.

but that was really before final design etc. Took Mark awhile to begin making them. I would think he wouldn't be nearly as far out now. They are beautiful, alot more substantial than I thought from pics. They look nice and will definately help on those long trips :) :04biker:

I've got very long legs and usually on highway pegs I have to put the back of my leg on the peg instead of my foot. One thing about the fold in design I am worried about is that I would not be able to do this. So what I mean is that if I put my legs on them they would fold back under preasure.
Can anyone who has these wings comment on the possibility of this happening?

I have the Steed Sticks now and put my leg on the Pegs like you speak of Berzins... No Problemo on those... Though,,, they are round and have rubber on them so I am SURE,,, they are more comfortable to lay a leg across than a piece of machined flat metal IMHO...
Also,,, IMHO the Steed Sticks give you a little longer stretch out... They are a shade farther out than the Wings which I am wanting to try out too... So,,, don't think I am bad mouthing them in the least!!!;)

Well honestly I do have the STeed STicks now but have not installed them. Every time I look at doing it I get freaked out that I am going to hit them in a turn. My riding style has chnaged since getting the ST and I find I LOVE corners now. I am just not sure I want to risk putting the STicks on.

There is a reason they are called "Highway Wings."

Berzins~~~
Put the "Chicago Fasteners" on the Steed Sticks and they will NOT,,, be the first thing that will hit in a curve...
